I was planning on getting a 2 piece ugly stick so I can put it in my luggageI use Shimano 4000 class spinners (Sedona) with 30# braid and 25# mono leader. My 2500 size reels (Sienna I think) get 8-10# mono.
They are 12 years old, saltwater use only, and have never done a thing to them other than rinse em after a fishing trip. No complaints and never thought I needed anything "more" for what I use em for.
I use Ugly Stik rods mostly. Really like their 1-piece SS guides.
Fiblink on Amazon. Can't beat them for travel rods. Cheap too.I was planning on getting a 2 piece ugly stick so I can put it in my luggage
Those look good, are they pretty durable? I left ugly stick once and bought a $150 rod once and it snapped on the first hook set.. I’ve never used anything else since thenFiblink on Amazon. Can't beat them for travel rods. Cheap too.
Pm sentI have a shimano spheros 3000 o could probably part with. It’s a saltwater reel but I’ve never used it in saltwater.
I just took two to Florida. I think they're made out of carbon fiber so they should be more durable than graphite...not sure about fiberglass rods. Me and my dad and FIL all run them. They've treated us great. I get the 4 piece 7 footer and 10 footer for surf action. We haven't had any problems. Those look good, are they pretty durable? Braid or mono? I use power pro in freshwater but I’m not sure what I should use for inshore… I live nowhere near salt so I’m trying to get my stuff togetherI just took two to Florida. I use 15 lb power pro on my light salt water rods. Depending on what I'm fishing I'll also use a 20 lb fleuro leader. Salt water fish seem to be more sensitive to visible line...or maybe the water is clearer not sure which.Braid or mono? I have two! Good reels! We always use the Cabela’s salt striker without any issues. I’m not sure if they make them anymore but a couple of them lasted me a decade or more.
