Dave,

I'd considered giving one a try but after a little back/forth on it I decided not to mainly because of the stock grip. I like my thumb inline with the bore, not wrapped. I asked for input on it here:

I ended up going with the Peak instead. Just got it so I've not had it out yet.

They want like $2500 for that stock, pretty ridiculous up charge.

Quest has a cerekote stainless barreled action.

The cheapest stainless steel Sako 90 I can find at Eurooptic is $2299. Quest is $3999.

$1700 difference. That’s still a lot, but the way Sako makes their CF stocks seems a cut above the others, and there are some spendy models on the market from other CF stock companies. It’s also on par with some of the popular rifle chassis.

If the Quest is a great stock, it’s maybe not completely ludicrous.

The Finnlight is going to be $2k, the hunters are now $1800ish. I’m figuring the the barreled action value is somewhere around $1500. I don’t see cerakote adding much value. That stock better work some kind magic for that price increase

Those look great, and hit a nice price point.

They are a bit heavier though, by spec. Not that those are always correct, but what I’m seeing is the lightest Finnlight is listed at 7.2lbs (6.5 Creedmoor in 20”). Whereas a 20” 6.5 Creed Quest weighs 6.6lbs.

It would be cool if the Montana rifle company in its current form is better than what they used to be. A lot of those m70 clones they made were real lemons and they didn’t have a good reputation of fixing their issues.

The Marshall's better work. That's the entire value proposition, and there are a lot of reputations on the line.
