Buy a saddle you won’t regret it. I have that and a long wolf sit and climb for different areas

I’ve tried them all. I’ve been a “mobile” deer hunter before it was cool, hunting strictly public for nearly a decade.

5’11 195# Size 12 boot hunting mainly GA

My Beast stand has been bar none, my favorite treestand ever. Weights 7# and bites into trees like no other treestand I’ve used.

The 6-10# treestands with ultra lightweight sticks (think 1-1.5# per stick) with climbing aiders will typically weight 9-14# fully setup and get you 18-25’ off the ground.

I’ve tried the Sit Drag DIY Saddle, Tethrd, H2... with various platforms. I found my knees and feet couldn’t handle it. I’d constantly move side to side to keep my legs from going numb. I’d get busted more in a saddle than a treestand. Trying to shoot a bow in a saddle, especially off your weak side is extremely challenging and MUST be practiced.

Overall I feel that saddle hunting, like extremely heavy arrows, are just a temporary fad.
The ultra lightweight hang ons and climbers provide a better experience all around than any saddle setup I’ve ever tried.

I hope this helps.
Temporary fad, thats a good one. Did you take out a small business loan to get all the beast stuff? Did it come with a pic of don too? lol

What’s the average saddle, platform, ropes, ascenders & carabiners cost?
Don’t cherry pick some BS mass produced budget setups, either.

Take out a loan… We work hard and invest in quality equipment that will last a long time.

I have been a saddle user since 2004 , with the Guidos web saddle. I tried Tethered 4 years ago for one sit. Garbage that i sent back to the company. lol. Got a Cruzr Saddle now.
Cruzr- 254.99
Wild Edge Steps- 150.00 (8 steps)
ropeman 1- 125.00
Tether- 65.00
Total 595.00

Beast Climbing Sticks - 119.99 x 4 - 479.96
Beast Stand 699.99
3 Step Aider 35.00
Pic of Don-Priceless
Total 1219.95

Saddle hunting is not cheap. The beast system is next level costly.

No platform for the saddle?

No matter how you look at it, most of the lighter weight “mobile” saddle/stand hunting setups will cost you some big $$$ new.
Now used you can find some decent deals, but nothing like we had 5-10 years ago.. I wish I bought 5 sets of the LW climbing sticks when they had the 4 for $99 with free shipping sales.

At the end of the day, between the rifle/scope/rings or compound bow, range finder, binos, arrows, broadheads, lighted nocks, quiver etc… You’re spending some money. We just have to find what setups fit our style, budget and needs the “best”.

I dont use a platform. I use two wild edge steps as a platform rig. I was just talking about how much the LW sticks are now vs then. I have two sets of 4 as well, but i dont use them a lot nowadays. Got them back in the day for a deal.

XOP Cold World - 7.5lbs $299.00
XOP LM04 Sticks - 9.9lbs $99.00

Total - 17.4lbs ~$400.00

Ability to sit, take a pi$$, change layers easily, and not stick out from the tree at a 20 deg angle, absolutely, positively *ing priceless.

Mobile hunting since 2002 with my Lone Wolf Sticks & Black Lightning Tree Stand. Not a tree I can't get in. Total weight? Under 13lbs. Like others, I wish I had bought more of the LW Sticks when a 4 pack was $99.
