I will buy at least 2 and will pay in full for both as a deposit.

We can divide the resulting number by the days on the platform. Negative reaction can still be counted due to making a post that brought about engagement.Yeah but reactions include meme posts. Hence my almost 710k score by this math. (And reactions can obviously be negative!)
I would do a 10% non refundable down payment to get in on the first shipment with the balance due within 5 days of notification that they are ready to ship. Any that don't get paid for become retail available at full price. But in all reality, I'd hate to listen to people cry about how they haven't seen their order yet so maybe they should just buy what they can afford and force us to fight gladiator style for them.Or we can just do a simple presale when the scope is ready to ship from Japan. Anyone who can't wait 30 days for delivery isn't that serious about buying one anyway.
Yeah, there's no guarantee everyone that wants one gets in on a pre-order, either. Intentionally or unintentionally, creating a feeling of exclusivity or something that's hard to get will drive demand.I would do a 10% non refundable down payment to get in on the first shipment with the balance due within 5 days of notification that they are ready to ship. I'm happy with my RS1.2's, but the whole turret thing has me less willing to try something new because it demonstrates the craziness you point out and lowers my trust of the recommendations overall.Just look at mavens. When people had to work hard to get them at each restock, everyone loved them and they got sold at or above msrp. Since they've been in stock for a year +, people are dumping them for various reasons, including a turret that spins too easily.
s2h would derisk the first run completely with a presale. email sign up, pay, order and those buyers get their scope 6 mos later.Yeah, there's no guarantee everyone that wants one gets in on a pre-order, either. To be clear I strongly dislike maven and won’t buy their scopes out of principle. To your point, they know how to make a good scope and won’t apply that knowledge to the rest of their line. Plus, I have already made it well known I am a Nightforce guy that used to be a trijicon guy and still loves both. I also prefer MOA, but use both MIL and MOA.If the price goes up that’s a sure sign the market perceives a value higher than offered price. I think your prediction will happen. Reticle aside, I see it as a value buy at $1000.
(Sidebar: ZT has moa reticles they could add to this. Their PHR 4 reticle looks pretty usable if it could be readily adapted to FFP. Or - better - just take the THLR reticle, round the various major subtensions to the nearest moa approximation, make the 0.2mrad windage marks 1moa, make the various 1/2mrad stuff 2moa, make the 1mrad stuff 4moa or 2-2moa....that'd be pretty much all it took. If they really wanted to market it to us easterners they could further narrow the windage hashmark section as it's hard for us to find reason to shoot in 20moa (or ~5mrad) wind conditions. Something like 10-12moa would be....awesome, IMO. But that's a secondary consideration. ETA: Or compromise, give us 10-12moa of windage but instead of making the thick crosshairs come in further, leave them about where they stop now, and make the tapered tip section narrower/longer?)
My hangup with the Maven is that the reliability of the 1.2 seems to be more of a happy accident than anything else. They could discontinue it next week and replace it with some 'improved' model that was less reliable. I honestly think Leupold did that to some extent over the years. Also, the Maven is currently $1400 and I doubt you see them below $1200 very often again. I'd much prefer to reward a company that grasped the basic problems most of us seem to complain about and showed an interest in working on them.
I think I could live with the Maven moa-2 reticle but even as a moa guy I believe the simplified THLR offered here is a great concept.
I think that is a stupid reason to throw money at something. I am guessing they are making a shit ton of money off this site with advertising revenue and all of our participation on this forum make that happen. I also thought it was crazy guys were donating scope for the drop test that got the piss beat out of it. Ryan should be buying the scopes, drop testing, and then reselling them if he wanted to. Its his site and all of that brings in revenue indirectly and other opportunities directly. I try not to give money away unless it is directly benefiting someone in need like a family or person struggling financially or a sick kid etc. What about just to support the effort. Do you get benefit from the site? Entertainment? Knowledge? Something?
I appreciate the effort the folks associated with the site put in. I’ve sold probably 50 items on the site in the last decade and it’s made it easier for me to try out nicer used stuff.
For some, including me it’s more about having what appears to be a solid product in addition to supporting the efforts that went into it and to support the site I enjoy.

Next scope I buy will likely be a trijicon, but not a dialing scope. Most likely a huron or ascent, for a muzzleloader I do not shoot past ~250 yards, ever. It's more important to me for what I intend to do with it, than the scope in this thread would be if I get one.To be clear I strongly dislike maven and won’t buy their scopes out of principle. Man that's a pretty tough take and it goes way beyond the scope of this thread. I'll just say that I find a lot of value here and I appreciate that, present issue aside.I think that is a stupid reason to throw money at something. It should go by Rokslide member seniority.
You know this entire thread has been started and posted upon by people that have absolutely zero association with or upon the release or sale of the new scope. This is in no way an official scope thread. If you’re gonna do it by seniority or post count instead of payment made, go ahead and count me out
Was that an actual thought or just bs.If you’re gonna do it by seniority or post count instead of payment made, go ahead and count me out
I hadn’t ever heard of Zero Tech until now but I just read a couple drop evals and they both failed- one of them pretty miserably- I don’t put a ton of weight in these drop tests but I know a lot of guys on here think of it as Gospel, so what is different in this new S2H scope compared to the other zero techs? One of the Zero Techs tested was from the same Trace Advanced line of scopes
