I’ve been using arca rails on for tripod shooting for ~ 5 years now. Started off with short Henderson rails now I have full length under the forend.

My rifles are balanced front heavy/ well in front of the recoil lug so if you carry one handed there’s a rail there. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest. No big deal. I like the long flat smooth rail if I’m shooting off a bag as well.

All but one rifle, my kid prefers no rail and prefers shooting off a bag vs locked into a tripod.

Was really disappointed the rokstock doesn’t have a flat bottom of forend to mount a full length arca, so I’ll be bedding a rail on mine.

Here’s a link to a video I found pretty helpful the first time I installed t-nuts in a rifle stock.

The only thing I do different is to top off the recessed hole with a little 2 part epoxy like JB Weld. Probably not necessary but in my mind it adds back the rigidity I just took out drilling the holes. See attached photo and then the one of the rifle locked into the tripod.

Good luck!
Thank you for the link and pics! Heading to watch it now.
