this is a sunset photo i made tonight in carrizo springs, texas. I'm fairly certain the stark shadow is from the riudoso smoke plume 600 miles from here. damn nature you scary (but beautiful).

What rig are you on? I sell drill bits to all the rigs west of 35

Friend of mine is a hotshot based in ruidoso, they evacuated their barracks days ago and a bunch of his coworkers lost their homes as well. looks like a mess. fingers crossed for rain

The growth has nearly stopped over the last few days and reports are at 70% containment. The weather has been favorable for the fire fighters over the last few days allowing them to stop the spread.

Residents are being allowed back in town but local services are greatly restricted. The web cam is running in town and shows some traffic but nothing you'd consider normal.

They're going to need a lot of time, help and prayers to recover from this one.

As rumored last week, this appears to be intentionally set.
