I had this rifle built a while back, worked up some loads for it, shot a few deer with it, shot fantastic, nothing not to like. As new rifles come in, it slowly found its way to the back of the safe, now it has been a while since it has been used. Looking to part with it so someone else can enjoy it.
The rifle started out as a .308 Win, I had McGowen rebarrel it to .250 Savage Ackley Improved 1:7" twist, 22" long.
I am including Lee .250 Savage dies, Redding .250 Savage A.I. dies, 100 pieces unfired .250 Savage Brass, 57 fireformed, and a handful of primed fireformed, and twice fired. Also includesa new box of Hornady 117 gr BTSP for fireforming and about 40 Hammer 95 gr HHT bullets.
Looking back at my notes I was getting about 3250 FPS with the Hammers using Sta-Ball Match powder. The barrel has about 150 rounds through it, 100 of those being fire form loads.
