Is it necessary to break in rubber boots for a Newfoundland moose hunt. Well aware of breaking in leather boots but not sure about rubber boots. Thinking about Lacrosse boots and a few others. Want to get something soon to check fit and weight. Thoughts from the moose experts. Thanks

Bump for your thoughts.

I have never been on a moose hunt, but I have used rubber boots a lot. I have used both Lacrosse and Muck boots, and in my experience, breaking them in does help with the comfort and flexibility of them, though not to the extent of leather boots. So far, the Mucks with the neoprene upper seem to take less to break in.

I use rubber boots a lot, and to be honest, I’ve never thought about breaking them in.
My response would be no to your question.

I don't think you will break the boots themselves much, but I find that sometimes with new boots my feet need to get used to them (maybe develop some strength to accommodate the fit). I definitely feel my worst in new boots and get used to them after a few wearings. I'd wear them around the house and yard as much as you can before the hunt if you will be living in them.
