Overwhelmed by scope choices

First post on Rokslide. I am putting together a new medium range hunting rifle. I have a Tikka T3X 7mm prc with a 24 inch barrel and a side baffle muzzle brake. I have been stewing over optic choices for days. I have considered a Burris Eliminator 6, a Leica amplus 6 3-18, a Leupold vari x 6 4-24, a Zeiss v4 6-24, and a few others. I like the idea of the burris eliminator but am worried about glass quality. I own several leupolds but have heard their quality is declining. I have never owned a zeiss or a leica. I am open to any and all suggestions, ideas, brand recommendations or whatever you may have to throw my way. Thank you

We will make more trouble rather than be of any help.

On a 7 PRC Tikka I would go for something heavy like an NF ATCR or S&B PM II.

If you really care about glass, then S&B is the only brand I would consider, but that is because durability/zero retention are my top priorities. That judgements is based on reputation, not extensive personal experience.

Unbelievable deal in the classifieds if you like MOA and SFP. Includes the rings.

SWFA SS 3-15x42 MOA SFP

If medium range means 50-300 yards or less then I would consider a variable in the 2-12 or some variation of that with a objective from 40-50mm in a set n forget scope. That will narrow it down. Also staying in that power and Obj range will possibly let you afford a better quality scope. It will give you all the scope you need for that medium range. No need for twisting turrets at that range either.

I’d go with the Leupold or Zeiss. Both reputable brands with good products and service. Anything under 400yds doesn’t need twisting turrets, or mil dots or whatever kind of overcomplicated reticle. K. I. S. S.
