RokStok

I like that the Rostock and rs1.2 on my 223 are an exact match for my bigger gun in terms of training. But it also feels way to substantial on a 223. I feel like a Rostock lite and a much lighter scope like the swfa 3-9 would be a better set up if the 223 is a user not a trainer. Though I am leaning toward adding another 223 vs reconfiguring this one, will have to see once the lites come out.

I also started with all the spacers in and settled on 1 being the best fit for me if shooting a combo of sitting, prone, and standing. Im using UM lows on mine.
Probably a good plan. But my 223 isn’t so much a trainer for me anymore. It’s become my primary hunting and shooting gun. I probably haven’t shot two boxes of ammo through my 6.5 in the last year. So keeping the stocks consistent isn’t really a thing for me.

Anyone else get an email yesterday saying UM placed your order at Stockeys for your Rokstok? It said typical lead time is 120 days, I am guessing that is from today and not when I ordered it?

Yep same email - 120 days from the order placed with stockys I guess.... that sucks to tack another 5 weeks on to the wait.

I actually asked about that - when they opened up railed tikkas I thought it was 90d lead, then got that email yesterday at 120d. I asked if that 120 was starting yesterday and they said no, from original order. I still canceled, which was no hassle to UMs credit, and have a Bastion showing up next week (my barreled action was ready months earlier than anticipated) as an easy button.

Met @TradLife406 to buy a pack off of him, and while I was there, got to check out his Rokstok’d Tikka. Really like how it feels, and it’s definitely on my list to get.

Question for you guys before I call UM Monday. I am trying to add a couple spacers to increase my LOP a bit.

I unscrewed the two #2 Philips head screws and can’t get the butt pad to come off. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, just seemed like I had to apply more pressure than necessary and was going to cut/break the butt pad?? Thanks yall

It’s epoxied on. To get off of you have to run a razor blade around it. They didn’t use a lot of epoxy and just working your way around it a little at a time it’ll eventually separate. You don’t just add spacers to what you have. There’s a permanent adapter plate they add to the stock. Once that’s installed you can add or subtract additional spacers as needed. I believe you have to send your stock in for the spacer system to be installed. At least in the beginning they weren’t selling the parts for you to install yourself. Call and see.

If you squeeze the end of the carbon fiber it might pop off.

One of mine I took off was not glued or didn't hold and the other popped off like I described above with a little click when the glue shattered.

The blade will do it tho. Go easy.

I added space with fatter grind to fit butt pads.

I ordered the kit from them and this is what they sent.

I assume I just cut off the existing butt pad and then epoxy these anchors in?

You will prob have to drill out blind holes for the bolts to thread into.

I was thinking they would send t nuts but that works.

Those are a form of rivnut and meant to be expanded. I wouldn’t say that they would have to be expanded to work. Epoxying them in would probably work fine. I personally would glue and expand them enough to hold in place The carbon that they and the original screws mount to is very thin so if you expand them I’d do it carefully. It probably wouldn’t take much to snug them up to hold in place while the epoxy set up.

Just ordered a Rokstok Friday.I didn’t order the lop kit as I missed it.
How will the Rokstok come?
No spacers,.one spacers etc and is it a simple bolt on or off switch now.

Has anyone added a spartan GS adaptor in front of the magwell on their rokstok? I like having the option to run an arca or something to mount to a tripod but want to keep it low profile. The SRS mini arca is pretty prominent. I saw the Henderson hunter rails and am considering that too but the spartan GS seems like the way to go. I tried doing a quick search for some pics and didn’t find much.

Better to just order and have them install.
Not sure I’ll need it but definitely don’t want to send back or start hacking on my new stock.
Wouldnt making it with a few spacers included make sense.

I ended up making my own spacer system adding 3/4” to the LOP. For whatever reason the standard 13 1/2” that works on other stocks feels short. Same for the Bravo stocks. Those I use longer than normal too. Likely it’s the vertical grip.
