Has anyone tested the factory tikka stock against a Rokstok when shooting extreme prone (think +-45 degrees) angles?

I shot a Rokstok at the S2H class for a few days but don’t recall shooting extreme prone angles. My factory stock seems to want to slide out the bottom of my shoulder pocket and results in high misses at distance if I’m not careful

Do you have the original recoil pad on tikka? I found my factory stocks handled angled shots better once I swapped to the limbsavers, which is more square. I think the Rokstok further improves on this with the toe above bore line, making it less likely to slide down on steep angles.

What kind of velocities are you seeing with the 16.5” barrel?

No data yet but hoping for 2800-2900 with the 95TMK. Breaking in the barrel tomorrow with some factory norma ammo, then I’ll get that brass loaded up with the 95’s. I’ll keep you posted, probably make a thread on the 95TMK since there isn’t much data on loading for it.

That scenario has been my biggest struggle with any traditional stock. The Rokstok makes that position easy.

Email received last week confirming color combos on my left handed July drop. Sounds like they're going to hit that 90 day mark as advertised. I was impressed because I had to call and get the LOP kit to be added to my stock since the website was a little janky when I placed the order. It was confirmed that all of that was added to my stock and will be shipped out together. I'll throw some sort of arca attachment on it and go put a hurting on some whitetails in November.

Re ear muffs issue. I dont have any interference issues with UM or sportsmatch high rings and sordin pro muffs but it's close. If I were leaning my head over and down to get into a lower scope i'm pretty sure there'd be an issue.

Same. No problem with Sordin Pro muffs and UM medium.

This is why I shoot with foam ear plugs. But I’m also not shooting around other people so they suffice for suppressed shots

If I am around other people at a range with loud guns I'll often double up, in which case if my cheek weld pushes on the muff on my ear and it lessens the decibel reduction effectiveness some I am not worried as that is a secondary layer.

That said as noted I needed to go with higher rings to comfortably fit the rokstock so that helps.

I shot the Rokstok and factory stock with the same barreled action and rings. The Rokstok required a different check weld location in my face. So if you want the same check weld location on your face, yes you’ll need to upsize the ring height

That is what I basically did, the rifle with scope came out of a factory vert grip stock and into a rokstok, I wasn't as fixated on the actual cheek weld location but I was having to mush my face down more and it wasn't as natural/comfortable for me, so I tossed on a taller set and that felt more comfortable.

Same. No problem with Sordin Pro muffs and UM medium.

The slim profile of Sordins are better all-round than the big bulbous muffs ... I found they also last longer than the mid-to-high end Peltors I used to run.

One of my Tikkas has apparently been sneaking donuts and put on about 5/8 of a pound. I think it makes her look pretty good though. If the RokStok lite ever comes out, she might go on a diet again.

Haha! Is that the spacers that added the weight and did you install yourself? I’m think I might add some to mine

The weight gain was from going from a Stocky’s VG Hunter to a Rokstok. The latter is just a bit chonkier even without the spacers. I asked UM to add the spacers for me. Left them all in until I shoot it. Seems pretty comfy with the long LOP. UM also put a flush mounted Spartan socket in for me where the front sling swivel would normally go.

Wife and I getting out with the 223 rokstock and some ball ammo. Both of us are working on racking quickly and some positional shooting. As well we've been working on shooter/spotter communication and identifying terrain and places to shoot in a precise manner.

What height did you end up getting? Sportsmatch t084’s felt pretty good with the factory stock and usable but marginal with the rokstock for me

Those are the rings I have on mine as well and I'm considering going to the high (HTO73). I have a set of the high rings on a Nightforce with a stock Tikka stock on my .35 Whelen because the barrel profile didn't allow scope caps without contacting the barrel with the med. I don't want to mess with anything right now but at the end of the season I'll switch the .35 Whelen action in the Rokstok and see how those high rings feel.
