Just ordered mine today as well.. My buddy has one and I've gotten behind it a few times and his UM low rings are always too low for me and I can never get my eye in the scope. What would be a better idea, getting the mediums or highs from UM?
I’d get a set of medium, if they don’t work, send them back for highs

High Tikka direct mount rings for me. I run 1.250 rings on my rem700 rokstok as well.

You’ll probably be fine with mediums. The couple folks that I’ve seen that “need” high rings, set up on the gun fairly far back and are usually shooting from a bench not a field shot.

Can always order both and sell the other set.

Ordering both sounds like a good idea. I’m always looking for investors to help me with my gun builds to purchase things like 2 sets of expensive scope rings. Any interest? ;)

I initially moved a scoped barreled action from a VG to the RS. It was wearing a Mavin 1.2 in UM lows. It wasn't a good fit off hand and I was having trouble getting "down" on the scope. Ordered UM highs, mounted the scope with the same ring spacing, and they worked.

When the second RS arrived I moved an unscoped barreled action to it and only had lows to use. Using another Mavin 1.2 I mounted it a little more forward and the lows worked great. After this, I replaced the highs on the previous with UM lows and moved the scope a bit forward.

All that to say, where your cheek weld is located makes a difference in the height. Both lows and highs worked for me, just had to slide the scope forward a bit. Even the power setting of the scope plays in as one with variable eye relief like the Mavin (3.3" vs 3.9") will be a 1/2" difference.

If you want to try UM highs, send me a pm and you're welcome to try these.

Possibly dumb question but does the rokstock not come with sling studs on it? Are you guys adding them or does no one use a rifle sling on these.

My April order just came with flush cups but no sling studs. I didn't ask for the flush cups so I assumed they are standard now.

I believe the website describes this. As I recall the non-railed tikkas will have traditional sling studs while all others will have flush cups on the side opposite the bolt. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can confirm this for you.

Can anybody provide the grip width? I have some tendon damage and need one that is kind of goldilock range ~ 1.5 - 1.75. But know that grip cant and especially trigger pull is a big factor, which I can modify if needed. Thanks.

I had planned on buying 2 when ordering resumed, so when I checked this thread Friday and saw they were available I went to the UM website. Then I saw no rails on Tikka inleted stocks and I kind of balked. Then I told myself I’ll just get one and wait for the next batch for a railed stock, so I ordered one. Then I woke up this morning and thought…why the hell do you care if it’s railed you don’t even own a bipod.
All of this to say they’re “out of stock” now. Guess I’ll be waiting on that second one after all.
