RokStok

Still waiting on my Model 70 order from February.. I reached out to Jake a few weeks ago and he said my stock is showing as "In-Production" and that they are being made intertwined with the MRC stocks. So much for the 90 day lead-time, but I'm looking forward to getting it in eventually

I lean toward the latter, because all 3 fit better and require no shimming in the oem stock.
OEM stock and nearly all aftermarket stocks I’ve used require zero or minimal shimming with high desert BM.

Stockys VG and Rokstok will require using the provided shims from high desert, and have Thomas (owner) ship you an extra zip lock of the shims.

Any idea on why that is and doesn't seem to be so with lumley?

Zero experience with Lumley.

Not sure if it’s a tolerance stacking issue or what. You’d think if it was, it would show up on factory, McMillan, Manners, Mesa, Peak, Alterra, Grayboe, and the other stocks I’ve used with that bottom metal.

I talked to Thomas before I ordered and he acknowledged that his BM would likely need shimming in the Rokstok. Once I got it installed it indeed needed .032 in shims which was the same as the MT BM that I had originally and planned to use. I ended up keeping the HD on the Rokstok and will use the MT on another rifle. There doesn’t appear to be any issues with function, although I find the way they are both proud of the inlet a little annoying. I ended up sending Thomas an email with photos of the 3 BMs in a Rokstok just for his own reference.

Has anyone found a better solution or fit for a thicker recoil pad other than Backfire one or limbsaver airtech 10809? Would like about a 1/2" more lop than how it ships. Can make spacers but a thicker pad seems like a simple solution. I would have ordered the Backfire one for both my stocks but they won't ship to Canada. If the 10809 is the next best option I'll try that but figured was worth asking if anyone has found a better option. I see limbsaver has a really thick grind to fit has anyone played with those?

I have the 10809 on both of mine. They aren’t perfect, but very close. Just have to shave off the lip and drill new holes.

What model of the Backfire fits the Rokstock?

Rokstok pad is listed on the drop down menu on their order page. I really like mine, and I am getting another for my in production 2nd Rok.
Can you share your experience/feedback on the backfire pad on the rokstock? Any other pads you've used to compare it to?

Don't know if my review would be of much value, I put it on a pretty soft recoiling 6-7PRC with a braked suppressor. It's a bit more comfortable to shoot than the factory pad. But I didn't have any issues with the factory pad. The Backfire was just the easiest way to gain some length of pull. That it's better than the factory pad is just a bonus for me.

I'd say it's on par with others i have (Limb saver, Kickeez, Pachmyar etc). This based on feel- I haven't shot them on the same gun.

It may very well be quite noticeable on a heavy recoiling rifle.

I have a limbsaver on my other tikka, sounds like I'll just go that route for my 65prc (after reading 6 pages of review/opinions. :)

I tried searching and reading through the thread. Can somebody tell me when the next batch is going to be available for purchase?
Nobody will know until they announce. The May orders are listed as 6-8wks on the website. So my money would be late July/Aug.
