As someone who's hard on my stuff and also waiting on 2 rokstoks, I would appreciate getting a call asking "would you mind one that looks like crap?"
As long as its structurally sound and straight, I don't care how it looks at all. Though, I guess maybe the qc issues are deeper than cosmetic?

I actually like the products I've used/owned from Stockys, but this LE Green saga has just been tipped over from 'silly and disappointing' to 'is the green weave material cursed?? what day is it again?? They shipped out semi-turds after all this?'.... I want them to succeed... I think the standard straight up carbon stuff is going better at least
 
Maybe those waiting more than a year or whatever get the first option to buy the additional Rokstock inventory before the drop?
 
Roksliders, apparently I let this very fresh info slip at the Hunt Expo and it took all of .35 microseconds to get posted here on the Slide. There are currently 25 customers on deck for a LE Green Rokstok. Below is the email I just sent to them each individually:

We tried multiple batches of Green Carbon and multiple process changes to try and get this done for you with no success.

Because of the amount of time you’ve been waiting, we are going to REFUND your green stock and give you a FREE one. Yes, you will be receiving a FREE stock.

I hope for most of you this is an acceptable middle ground for the amount of time you’ve been waiting.

Your free stock will include either black carbon camo, single color, or sponge pattern.

What about the other rokstoks? You mentioned in the pod that you would take a few to the expo and save a few for retail. I’ve been checking the website compulsively to see if any tikka Rokstok hit the retail market.

I am sure this is probably frustrating to all parties, customers and UM. However, this seems like awesome customer support from UM. I’m sure the QC issues will get resolved. I look forward to ordering a Rokstok when the orders open again.

Wow. I've got no dog in the fight, as I don't have a stock on order. But this is really impressive, good on you guys @Unknown Munitions . You've earned my business when the occasion arises, for parts, smithing, or otherwise.
 
So, I have to pick a pattern for my Rokstok. I need ideas. Gun is gonna be a whitetail rifle in the Appalachian mountains. Where do you go to just look at different camo pattern options?

what's everyone's thoughts on those stocky's recoil pads? if the qc move brings things in line with tikka quality match and can be more like an $800 dollar product like alterra etc. that recoil pad gotta go, it's way too budget and came on same shipping container with rest of toy's'r'us products, and would anyone really mind if cost went up if the qc and everything else moved up a level closer to other stock manufacturer levels? I know I'd pay more for that next level up, the tikka deserves it

on the wood, red rubber (aka ruger/sako) is the answer there, total blasphemy with the stocky's pad on that lumber, the classy lumber needs some class on the ass
