RokStok

I did my best to measure lug height and got around .09". Is that too high? If so, would a skim bed job fix it. I received 2 Rokstoks, my 6cm dropped right in and shoots great, the other was hard to get seated on the lug, but I'm confident it's in there, but doesn't shoot great.

My first couple groups in a rokstok were pretty poor compared to how that barreled action shot prior in a Bravo. Since then it seems to shoot about the same so I haven't given it much thought. I'm eventually going to bed it for peace of mind.

Did you use clean up sponges or sea sponge from a craft store? Did you spray paint directly on the foam and apply instantly or wait a minute for the paint to slightly cure?

You're asking me to reveal one of my new fav tricks! This pattern is a crumpled up piece of bubble wrap (the stuff with little bubbles). I really like the "polka dot" effect. I spray the paint onto a little piece of carboard and then dab the sponge (or bubble wrap, crumpled paper, etc.) in the puddle of paint and apply.

I have. In 2 different barreled actions, both Tikkas .223 and 6.5 CM. I'm going to try going back to 45in pounds on the action screws and see if that changes anything. I was not interested in having to bed the action, but that will be next if necessary. I'm not unhappy with the stock at all, hence my willingness to have it bedded. I have never been able to spot my shots as effectively as I can with that stock. As mentioned above, horizontal dispersion. Also, if yours is scalloped and came with a rail be sure to do whatever you do to make sure the screws are tight and stay put.
No rail on mine..shooting off bags like I always have. 👍🏼

I think that's cutting it close, best I could measure the lug slot in my action was .095" deep.

My Friday order still has not shipped!

Haha side note, talked to Jake about swapping rails and decided to just order an Arca/Pic so I'd have both. Which got me browsing the site. Paint pens and vulgar stickers made it to the cart, along with what appears to be a hidden UM gem - the Jimmy. I had seen a similar (identical) item at GoHunt, but UM makes them for suppressors. Will get a lot of use from me.

For all those wondering how the MT lug compares to the one that ships with the Rokstok. FYI I was having a hard time seating my lug down into my Rokstok and then grabbed a MT lug that came with my Stocky’s VG stock. Looks like the issue was the non-MT is a little thicker but shorter isn’t the problem.C8430C89-7553-4BDA-855E-85188572ABEF.jpeg1C565E99-F25D-43F0-9CEF-2971A64E32FF.jpeg7ECA092F-C7D4-40BF-8258-504AE6959B81.jpegEAF09184-7D5D-4DDD-A694-EB6FC79D4D63.jpegCC91CAE2-1730-4578-B915-4C9F391E3EB2.jpegC8136677-6654-4652-B30C-3924AF9ECE6F.jpegB430B749-E5E8-4C8F-B56E-C62284FE51C2.jpegC5FA10A4-DF3D-4461-8BF8-B70746464378.jpeg53A2B57C-BA92-42A1-88FD-7CA0A668B6D0.jpeg

UM would like the record to show that the Jimmy was ripped off by GoHunt, and UM's was the original.

Additionally, UM's is made in USA, whereas GoHunt's is Chinese.

No matter what I tried I couldn’t get it to seat down in the lug channel. I think I would need to dremel just a fraction out of the channel for it seat correctly. The MT is a tight fit but I can push it in with my fingers and can get it out with a little effort49E9DF3C-721C-42EE-94A8-35DB9A338604.jpeg

I hate that their product was ripped off. That sucks.

Can I ask what people use muzzle covers for? I use electrical tape currently. Am I missing out on something better?

In this case its something that also helps protect the body of the suppressor/end of your barrel. And can be used over and over and over again, without keeping up with a roll of tape. I've done that as well. Just a more streamlined product that is cheap, not much more expensive than a few rolls of electric tape.

Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. I like that I can shoot through the tape without having something else to remove (and I already have a suppressor cover for mirage), so I’ll probably just stick to my current setup.

For a regular muzzle I can't think of why you'd want to bother with anything other than good quality electrical tape (sticks well and doesn't come off when cold/wet). For a suppressor the covers have some other benefits, esp. stuff that has a brake on the front like the scythe. That sad with my limited usage of my suppressor hunting i just put a piece of tape over that too. I imagine if you shot a bunch without removing the tape pieces it'd melt though since cans get hot, but I haven't had an issue hunting.

Are these UM recoil lugs that are shipping with the Rokstock?

I kind of assumed MT since that’s what Stocky’s used.
Yes it’s the lug that came with my Rokstok. Does NOT say MT on it. This is what it looked like when I pulled the Rokstok out of the box which I clearly knew wasn’t right 970BA72A-EEF8-4C98-91BE-00CAFB1ED817.jpeg
