Rokstok Lite

xxxx80 for me. I'm guessing I wasn't signed in when I ordered mine as I can't see it on my list of orders. The "in production" email was nice to get.

I'd be happy to get it "right now", but I'll be happy to get it when it arrives even if it's late. UM's got a lot going on and I appreciate what they do.
Mine is #47 and I can't look mine up either. I sent an email April 14th to see what the eta was and was told it was in production and it would be a few more weeks.

Just got 100 of these dropped off at my desk. @Salmon River Solutions crushed it on these.

@wnelson14 @Q_Sertorius and anyone else who is eagerly waiting on their stock.

first, I understand your frustration, I apologize for the delays. I'm doing my best to keep quality priority over hitting a deadline.

second, the "non-refundable" is mostly to keep tire kickers at bay.
@wnelson14 or anyone else that sees this as too little, too late, I'll cut you a refund check today or if you ordered with UM, I'm sure they will do the same.

I grossly underestimated the interest in a wood version. I received 25+ orders December to February which increased the lead time substantially.
I'm also a one-man shop. I touch every single thing, every single step.
I'm looking into options to speed up production, but implementation takes time.

I'm also involved in other projects to bring them to market starting with Rokslide.

Please, don't hesitate to ask for an update. I can't give specific dates until the finish is nearly done simply because every stock is different.

Mike

Mike, I Appreciate the update and transparency.

I still believe yourself and UM need to update and align more realistic timelines on both websites.

@longrangelead:

If you update the timelines on the websites, it might be a good time to update your pricing as well, given the backlog and comparison to similar market services.

For instance, I'm waiting on a walnut shotgun stock from a prominent stock maker in the sporting clays arena. I paid way more for it up front in 2021 (plus $2400 to get a pattern) and picked a chunk of wood to get a spot in the queue. I authorized the pattern and got in the actual production queue in 2024. I got a text last week that its ready for its final action fit and I sent my receiver and fore end iron today. Who knows when I'll get it back.

I think it's arguable that your craftsmanship is superior to the shotgun example. Your customer service is superior.

Thanks for making us stocks.

I agree. People should be paying at least $4,000 for a wood Rokstok.

For those curious how the flush arca rail looks on the Lite

What’s the total depth from the barrel channel to the front of the Rokstock logo? In a magical hypothetical world that has free rent in my brain, if I drilled a hole through the Rokstock logo and into the stock, wide and deep enough for a Spartan gunsmith adapter (and then epoxied it in), would that keep me from hitting my barrel? If you can follow my thought process there.

I called Mike when I placed my order. Was pretty up front about potential timelines.

I tend to agree he should up the price.

If anyone had a wood lite on order they are tired of waiting for I might buy their spot in line…

just me - but I’m good with forgoing that rail option. I think it takes away from the overall aesthetic. But good to offer it I suppose.

The dudes that are obsessed with the add ons will realize they don't need them once they actually have a lite Rokstok in hand.

This is not a vehicle for an ultralight tripod gun.

It's a hand carry field rifle.

To each their own, I like the pic/arca on mine. There is nothing earth shatteringly different about this stock that changes the way I use a factory tikka stock w/ vertical grip, a rokstok or rokstok lite. I have them all set up the same: pic/arca and a rear stock pack shimmed as needed for cheek weld. That is just my style/preference.

I routinely use a pic bipod that is easy on/off as desired for prone shooting and unlike some I routinely find prone shots even hunting, not always but often. The arca lets me use my glassing tripod if needed (sometimes with a pack for a rear support) to have an elevated shooting position, its not as nice as an arca at the balance point but it is more stable than just using a pack as a front support IF there is time to setup accordingly. The pic/arca isn't in the way of hand carrying the stock, I'll take the extra <2oz for the flexibility of deployment to my shooting preferences. I am decent but far from the best and I can crack off shots quickly but that is not my preference when hunting (at least on the first shot), I am not culling and I hate rodeos so I want the most stable shot I can put together is most cases for my hunting (not just killing) shots.

None of what I wrote suggests don't continue to practice more with quicker / less stable shots to boost confidence on when to deploy them but I'm not going to ignore a nice stable shot option if I have it available (that includes having the time to deploy) when hunting.
