Rokstok Lite

I think mine with same setup is 37 oz if I remember right. I assume 2-3 oz for the rail, 2-3 oz for the spacers and 1 oz for flush cups.

Thinking if I get a lite with no rail or flush cups I could drop at least 10-12 oz
Iirc my plain jane rokstock was 31 oz with no rail or spacers and regular sling studs

Sounds like the RokStok Lite (w/ rails, spacers, and flush cups) will be darn near identical on weight to a similarity accessorized McMillan Mountain Tracker LR (assuming you ordered it with your LOP).

My regular Rokstok is 33.5 oz. This includes with 2 arca rails, Spartan gunsmith adapter, and Limbsaver recoil pad, and plastic bottom metal. I’m a little surprised by your weights I guess. (Sendero channel) I’m hoping the lite takes off another 6-8 ounces off of this.

At one point one of the updates on the rokstok said the prepreg carbon resin content was upped a bit for surface finish and strength which increased the weight a little. So that could account for some weight discrepancy also depending on what era stock.

Not on the Lite.
In regard to the grind to fit recoil pads, do you know if this will be a standard feature that can be chosen instead of a spacer kit on the carbon fiber RS lite?

Also I’m deciding between an ACE 3 contour with side-mounted QD cups so the rifle can be carried across the front in an AR-style sling configuration, or a Sendero profile with no sling studs or QD cups at all. My question is whether the lower center of gravity on this rifle design would allow it to carry comfortably in an AR-style front carry, or if the lower center of gravity would instead cause the rifle to roll outward away from the body due to the scope weight sitting higher above the center of gravity.

I’ve had rifles that do this in the past and its not very comfortable or stable.

Scope is a 6x42 swfa for weight reference.

The Tikka stocks are swappable, but all the wood ones are bedded

I have a related question I’ve been curious about.

I’m ballin’ on a budget so I swap 3 Tikka barreled actions (6.5 PRC, 223, and 22LR) into the same stock/scope setup.
Would bedding the stock be a benefit or a potential issue in this case?

@Ryan Avery, @Unknown Munitions — Will the RS Lite be released for the T1x as well on Thurs? Or just theT3x?
You can put a t1x in a regular rokstok you just have to extend the notch for the bolt release forward about a half inch. I've been waiting to see a picture of the light on the opposite side of bolt. It seems the rs lite sits lower on barreled action and if the bolt release is above the top of stock line than the t1x will be no problem

The Lites will all have a grind to fit on them. They do not fit the Limbsaver pads.

I don’t know about that. Have never tried it.

I’ll weigh it, that barrel at 16” and stock combo with an OTB can is near as perfect a setup as I have felt.
Question regarding this. My two Tikka setups are an 18” 6 PRC and an 18” 223. I’m awaiting my Rokstok to come in. I was thinking the OG Rokstok on the 6 and a Lite on the 223. Both of those rifles have SWFA 3-9 scopes. On the 6 at least, I plan on putting the new S2H scope on it. I’d consider putting a Lite on the 6, but with that S2H scope being 6ish ounces heavier than the 3-9, I’m afraid it’d be a bit top heavy, which I don’t want. Do you have any insight on this?

My biggest issue was that running the sling tight enough to carry well didnt allow for shouldering. Can adjust while mounting with a vickers type sling but was kind of awkward.

Could probably get something to work, only messed with it for a little bit.

It’s not top heavy at all.

If the new lites have grind to fit recoil pads will they not have the LOP kit option. Just different pad thickness options? Thank you

Anyone give more thought on if they will go with the leather, neoprene, or no cheekpad on the lite? This is the last hang up to my planned order :)

Im pretty sure they still will have a spacer option.

I read this as: the Lites are incompatible with the current LOP spacer kit that use the limbsaver pads. They’re all pachmyer grind to fit, with a fixed LOP. So pick something you want to stick with, or get multiple recoil pads with different thicknesses.

The Lites will all have a grind to fit on them. They do not fit the Limbsaver pads.
