Here's mine from tonight -- made it to 47!

If I feel up to it I might do another attempt tomorrow where I try incorporating some downward dog to see what sort of effect that has. For my first entry I wanted to keep it simple, though.

AWESOME JOB! Love seeing all these ladies!! :D

I'm seeing a lot of 3/4 push-ups... what ever happened to locking those elbows out?

I'll let the judges decide on mine. Tried best I could for full straight up, lock out, straight down with arms and back parallel to the ground on the down, then back up to full lock out. Aron, you decide. I feel as I've been lazy and out of shape and haven't really done much to prepare for this, and it shows. Good luck to all, it's fun none the less!

I didn't really train extra for this. As soon as I started to concentrate on push-ups, the cold-start numbers starting going down.
So I just stuck with my regular routine. I think the count is 77, if they all pass scrutiny. I'm 50 years old, the jury may decide whether that is in the under-50 or over-50 category.

Thanks for putting this on guys!

So please enjoy -suffer through- the struggles of a 36-years-old, who once upon time (during university) could do a 107 proper PU w/o a break. Obviosly time left its scars on my abilities ;-))
By watching the video you can tell that I am yet to master Aaron's "how to tell your story" manual.
And a big shout out to Angie, without her posting I would have posted my first try of 72, but after being amazed by her performance I tried to man up and go a little above 90, I think 96....
IT was a fun competition and I hope I meet the standards. (Indeed it appears that elbow lock out is taken lightly by many...)
Good luck, Ferenc

Oh and a side note, The ladies' performance is just plain incredible. I am just blown away by some of their performance. Are you all competitive athletes/hard core cross fitters?

Here's my first official entry. It's awesome to see all the videos and everyone pushing themselves for this challenge! Although I think some folks need to watch their own videos and look at their form and realize that it doesn't conform to military standards. We will see how the judges rate them I guess. Not trying to rain on anyone's performance, but the only reason I say this is because I made a video initially and watched myself and realized my form was horrible...Ha! I wasn't in the military so maybe that's why. :) So I made a second video and tried to focus on my form. And that's when I realized I could do a helluva lot more push-ups when I was doing them poorly. ;) Now I feel pretty inferior...

Great contest

This was a tuff go. I was really hoping to up my max more but did not get enough workout time in and hit a plateau in the last two weeks. It will be very interesting to see how the judges look at things for all the contestants. Congrats to everyone though and to those 100+ guys out there WOW
