Rokslide Podcast

Along the lines if basic trauma and emergency care: how to handle situations whether solo or pair/group and emergency beacon options.

Great idea guys. I'm sure you've thought of it, but a highlight of some of the sponsors top/new gear would make for some good podcasts.

I think this is an awesome idea. There are a ton of options out there. How long is each podcast gonna be? I think focusing on outside the box stuff that maybe you don't see at a lot of other places. How to deal mentally with the loneliness of solo backcountry hunts, especially dealing with failures. Field care and game processing. The proper way to glass areas and spot game. I think gear reviews could be thrown in there once in awhile. I really feel this will be another great asset that rokslide provides.

Good idea. I throw a couple of topics
- shtf what if you get stuck out and didn't plan to stay the night (various season times)
- capping
- heavy hunting pressure tactics
- base camp luxuries
- off season prep(gear, physical conditioning, gear repair)

We're thinking gear reviews will be done in video format, but it will be more than a review. The one I just did was a review on the Hilleberg Soulo and Anjan tent, but I also showed how to take a large amount of weight off each model without sacrificing structural integrity. These wouldn't be a Pod Cast, but they would go into the same forum.

Great idea! A few show ideas would be: 1) how to select a campsite 2) how to upgrade gear and which items should you upgrade first 3) how to locate an out of state area

I keep seeing the same type I threads pop up. 1) floorless camping. Everyone who hasn't done it wants to know what to expect. How to pick a camping spot. When not to use a floorless, etc...2) sleeping bags and pads. 3) gear deals. 4) shows (sheep, shot). 4) drawing odds. 5) how to pack for a hunting trip. Just a few I keep seeing/participating in. Stoked for this.

How often were you thinking of making the podcast? Monthly? Quarterly? Weekly? I think the frequency of the podcasts would make topic selection easier. For example, if its weekly, make once a month a special like an interview, gear review, or something aside of the said technical information/education like down vs synthetic, etc. love the idea of a podcast!

I don't think it always has to be educational, I enjoy some good storytelling or just interviews with some others who have a lot of backcountry experience. It's great to listen to ideas and stories of things that have worked or haven't.

Maybe also what to look for when scouting on the ground or from home.

I think interviews with some of the top manufacturers like Kifaru about new technologies and fabrics, and how they are adding to the backcountry hunt would be interesting
