Do It Yourself. That seems to come with a lot if different interpretations and implications. I stayed out of the last thread on this subject but here goes.
I think an unwise person goes into any kind of venture, business or recreational activity without getting as much wisdom and knowledge about it prior to committing to it. To do otherwise leaves them open to an extreme chance of failure and lessens their chance for success. There is a reason fast food franchises thrive while so many other start up businesses fail. The successful franchise has a proven business plan that works. They duplicate it on their past knowledge of what it takes to be successful and they typically are successful when following that game plan. Learning by your mistakes and by hard knocks alone can work over time and there is nothing wrong with doing it that way if you have the time and resources available. Hard work, goals and perseverance is surly a key of success but getting knowledge from successful folks, family members, friends or even paying someone that is successful to help you with that knowledge or information just seem more prudent and wise to me.
Ask yourself why you visit here on the forum or how you've gathered your hunting knowledge. Do It Yourself? I'll gather not many here have done it all by themselves. They might have gathered wisdom themselves but most folks got it from other sources and or learned it over time. But if you really have done it all yourself and with no outside help, my hat's off to you for putting in all that time in learning the ropes alone.
How you hunt, with whom and by what means or method? That includes "Do It Yourself" too I guess and it is really up to the individual and perhaps a whole other topic. There are so many different interpretations and implications.
