Rokslide hiking trip

Just me sure to fill out your card at the trail head and attach it to your pack mother than that we just need to make sure our camps are spread out enough if there's more than 13 of us. And keep a mile between groups on the trail over 13, but I don't think there will be that big a group hiking at once until sunday

This will be a first filling out anything for me. Generally it's FTG. Lol.

i dont like the man knowing where i been!

I just fill out my name as Brock Akers and call it good.... that guy has been all over the wilderness! :-P

Mark, yeah good point there and you know there are enough crazy coasties out there to do something that resembles harassment. We'll see ya here shortly I'm just about to start loading the pickup!

The pictures that will get posted Sunday afternoon/Monday...

What happens in the wilderness stays in the wilderness Brock... ha

ALSO, last time I was into Schaefer you leave the trailhead and hike towards the river for a bit to the river crossing. The trail has some brush overgrown but it's fairly easy to follow. You'll eventually cross the river on a big downed tree. If I remember correctly once you cross the river and get off the tree go to your right and you should be able to pick the trail up again from the river bank. After that the trail is a good one but I guess the current log crossing is a recent development as a few years back the original log crossing got washed out.

brock, sounds like you'll need to defend your man-ginity.

someone might want to set a trailcam on video at this log incase someone falls in and thinks-its all good, no one saw

Just weighed my pack... 46 lbs with rifle/ammo and 2.5L of water. My dog is packing my bipod and cookpot/stove for me plus his own food and a water bottle. That 46 lbs is also without my 6 lb spotter/tripod combo with I think MLHSN is packing in for me. I am bringing a lot of heavy tasty food though which will be nice, probably add a beer to the pack in addition my gatorade bottle of Pendleton.... :)

i think im gonna pack a sixer of tallies and most of the food, split between me and the dog, wife has 2L of wine.
im running my typical meal pack as im still working to get it dialed in before season.

Starting to sound like Sundays walk out my be a bit hazy!
I just weighed my pack. 6lbs empty! That's how far along I am.
I figure that 8oz of Jonny walker and a few tall vitamin R's I will sleep well

I can't wait to see the trip reports on nwhikers next week and see some pics. Should be a good time.

I'm at 44 lbs. and I have a ridiculous amount of unnecessary shit. I brought 4 extra full meals for other guys, a box of apple pastries, 2 killer lunches, an MSR UL towel, shorts, Yukon raingear (someone had better want to take a look at this :)), fishing gear, pistol, binos and the list goes on.

I may have to get some beer or wine to weight my pack down a little more. :)
