Yea, Max definitely got the better of Oscar with that opening move- very slick. Will be interesting to see if Oscar let's it get in his head and his performance suffers like Lando.
Redbull seems to have found some pace, but they definitely won the safety car lottery yesterday too. Still not sure what McLaren was thinking pitting Oscar so early, but it did make the race more entertaining. Easy to be an armchair race engineer after the fact too - haha.

Well max won the VSC lottery which gave him a great gap, but after the full SC all that was lost and he had Oscar on 12-lap hards and Lando with new hards right behind. I think it was fair to say it was an even dogfight at the end, and even though Oscar was hampered by the wall, I just don’t think either had it to overtake max. Max truly has the ability to make the best out of the situation. And I think when he is in P3/4 and says that’s all that was in the car, that’s ALL that was in the car.

Apparently there were FIA technical directives the week prior to Imola regarding tire treatment and the design of wheel bodywork and skids.

Reported on PlanetF1 earlier today.

Hmmm, I wonder which team those directives might have affected???

I disagee. Yuki won the Saftey car lottery.
Pit lane P20 to P10 points is impressive.
Yuki's crash was the worst I have seen in a while optics wise. Him walking away and gettting his shit back together and being competive in the race is note worthy IMO.

Was only comparing Max/Oscar/Lando re: safety car. Yuki did indeed do well after that crash. those guys head's are not the same as a mere mortal.

I do agree that max was blessed with better luck then piastri. A SC 1 lap after pitting was just bad luck

Was great to see Lewis finally meshing with the car again and having a great recovery drive after early season frustrations for Ferrari and him not feeling comfortable with the car

Bumping … not related to hunting but glad
I’m not the only one who likes F1 and hunting in the mountains.

Feel like Oscar got screwed on strategy in Hungry. For what it’s worth I’m pulling for Max but Red Bull seems spent for the remainder of this season.

Edit… if you’ve watched Max come back from behind in the grid especially in a rainy race there is definitely a hunting aspect to F1. He gets the same love from the media that ranchers and hunters get in Colorado vs the wolves.

Also for Max. Spa would have been different I think if the FIA actually let them race in the wet and same at Hungary. Hungary was supposed to get rain but never happened...

One thing is for certain - whatever Max gets out of the car, it's ALL it has...

100% Agree. RB were set up for the rain with heavy down force. FIA hurt them immensely with delay and rolling start. If race would have gone forward without extended delay, the result for SPA would have been much different.

Lewis is an amazing driver and incredibly skilled. He was tremendously impressive not all that long ago.

It's a bit sad to see him struggle and say himself that he's "useless" with the Ferrari especially when his teammate Charles is getting P1 with the same car in quali.

However, its also hard to cheer for him when I feel like his wokeness would go against what many of us on Rokslide stand for.

Just read his wiki. He's full blown libtard.

His wiki also says he's the only black driver to race in F1, but he's not all black, but 1/2 as his mom's white.

Sounds a bit like the last dem preidential candidate (does this word mean won the presidentail primary?).

Lewis is vegan which I feel is antithetical to 99.8 % of Roksliders.
Not to mention that he tried to murder Max during Silverstone 2021, and basically since then has had to deal with the karma fallout…
Not seeing an eighth title in Lewis’s future.

I am tired of summer break already FWIW…

I’m kinda tired of this season already. Not sure how to explain it, but watching the McLarens up front has been absolutely uninspiring and unexciting. Even when max was way out front, his metronomic racing was truly incredible (still is).

I would be happy as hell to have Leclerc doing well. As far as Lewis, I think all the martyr-like comments are a way to publicly shame Ferrari into doing better. But had he not been paying attention over the last few years? Ferrari strategy alone needs a complete rebuild. You cannot have a driver like Leclerc literally arguing with the wall during a race about last-second changes and broken agreements and expect to win races.

And as to Lewis’ social commentary…I have noticed his helmets have been boringly similar so far and it leads me to think Ferrari told him to keep his commentary off the car. You aren’t going to gain the favor of the Tifosi dragging the Stallion though the mud…
