I agree with every one of the responses that are not degrading. Yes, I’ve only been “here” a month, but that has nothing to do with it. You guys are right. I shouldn’t get upset over stuff outside of my control. I viewed this community as a brotherhood and the lessons I learned about brotherhood in the special forces are extremely difficult to forget. It is in my nature to call it like I see it and hold others accountable as I expect others to do to me. Perhaps my view of this community is distorted. I will adjust accordingly.

You probably dont realize this but most humans are absolute garbage that parade around like they're unused toilet paper. I admire your hope in humanity... that people care, but most dont. Most come on here to sell crap or convince you to buy other crap. Are there communities out there that dont have this.... Maybe, but like i said MOST people are garbage.

To find a community that isnt looking to take advantage of others, you have to look at the values of those you are around. Just because you came on rokslide, that doesnt mean these people have values.

Finding a crowd of good people who are good to each other is very rare and I hope you can find that... It just does not exist on the internet, in a capitalist economy.

I'd say we are much more of a family than a brotherhood. . . And when I say family I mean a slightly dysfunctional one! Just read a few threads and you see what I mean. We can't agree on most things, mom and dad have told us we can't talk about politics, we don't listen to mom and dad, some of us are here to stir the pot, a few sit in the corner and lurk, we bicker and whine, but we are all still at the same Christmas wanting the same gifts! Hell for a while we all shared one thing that we agreed on, but we even messed up the meme thread!

So yea I'd say maybe some adjustment of views is needed. A Brotherhood we are not! But a high functioning dysfunctional family. . . Probably pretty close to hitting the nail on the head!

As for prices in the classifieds, just let cousin Eddie do his thing!

With as many ads that are posted here in the classifieds, there is no way we can vet every single classified post to ensure that people arent "running a store" etc. But if u report them to us (with all the links and facts) it would help out I'm sure

Appreciate it. This was in no way intended to create more work on behalf of the Rokslide staff, but only to vent about the lack of character by some of the members. To utilize an awesome (free) platform for personal financial gain while others support the site with fees for that privilege shows a lack of integrity, honor, and character. I appreciate all you guys do.

After dealing with a couple of flippers on a different forum I now check the profiles of people responding to a buy post before responding back. I don't respond to the blatant flippers that have zero history of participating other than buying and selling. There are some that do participate but it's minimal compared to their buy and sell activity. The flippers almost always have slow/poor communication probably because they are so busy working the various flips they've got going. They are also the most prone to low ball offers to see if they can work you. I have nothing against asking if I'd take a lower price but the really low ball offers they ask for are another confirmation of what they are up to. I find it annoying and won't deal with it but that's me

I’ve used the classifieds a few times and e-bay also. If I feel something is overpriced I scroll on, if it’s an obvious scam I’ll report it. I figure business is between buyer and seller, not my monkeys not my circus.

Like all parents they claim to not have favourites. . . But of course they do! And most of the time it is probably the ones causing the least trouble on that given day!

I posted a WTS a couple days ago, bumped up with lower price last night and the sumbitch is already 5 pages deep this evening. If I keep bumping every night and lowering price I might end up paying someone to take it.

Btw, can't recall selling anything on here before and haven't listed anything on other sites for a long long time.

You can bump without lowering price. Also make sure you have good key words in your listing, lots of folks use the search bar to find exactly what they’re looking for since there is so much traffic.

Just my own opinion, if you don’t like the price move on. There are other options/sites/buying new available. Every good site has people just there to sell stuff because there is a market. This site is no different. It has a lot of good active members that are like minded. If you or I think something is too high, we don’t have to buy it. But if that person has it and you can t get it anywhere else, you or I MAY buy it if it’s important to us and needed. Just my own perspective on things. I mean you no disrespect.

I don’t disagree at all and I should have elaborated in my post. I’m not for people who are buying stuff with the intent to resell it because it’s hard to get. That’s why a lot of things are hard to get right now.

What I meant was if someone has something for sale and it’s more than I think I should be paying for it I simply don’t buy it unless I feel like I really need it and can’t find it anywhere. This can apply to something new that was never used but I mostly mean it for used items that aren’t “discounted enough”.

For example if someone has a bag that’s $400 new and they want to try to get $380 out of it used, good luck. I’ll just buy a new one for $20 more lol.

gear. Now its a capitalistic free for all). Waste of time. Enjoy the articles

I have always found it interesting that when a transaction is being completed it seems the seller is the only person that can be unfair.

As a seller my goal is to get the most money for my product. As a buyer my goal is to get the most product for my money.

I have sold a lot of items on the internet. Sometimes I need money and I price things low. Sometimes I don’t need money so I price them high. I can’t rip you off or be unfair if you agree to purchase it for a specified price.
