"Rokslide Classifieds" clogged and cluttered - consider separating?

Hi Mods,

It's gotten extremely tedious to scroll through the "Rokslide Classifieds" section looking for anything that's not clothing at this point. It's just clogged with clothing, and then ten other types of random categories of stuff.

When you broke out Archery into its own section, it was great in de-cluttering things for those not interested in Archery stuff.

I'd like to politely ask the team to consider taking the Rokslide Classifieds, and break it up into "Clothing" and "Other Gear".

I’d be for this. I understand it may make more work for the mods. Seems like if it’s in smaller chunks, then it would be easier to police. Maybe I’m wrong.

How about the clowns that list the same damn ad in different categories so you see the same ad 2-3 times!? Can we ban those people!?!!
This is a violation of the classified rules, items for sale can only be listed in a single sub-forum. Please report multiple listing's.

I personally wish we could ban members that only use the Rokslide community as thier personal garage sales. They are just taking up ban width

How to you guys deal with people posting gun stuff in the general classifieds? For example, dies or brass, that would seem more appropriate in the gun classified section?

It’s too expensive for me to monitor the classifieds that closely😉. Seriously though I’ve moved everything that was requested to be moved. Curious to see what other mods say because I’ve wondered if moving an ad would possibly stop notifications being sent to anyone watching it.

Do dies and brass belong in the gun section? I always assumed that section was purely for firearms, not firearm accessories. Lol

I typically only move classified threads if asked, I don't have time to read and evaluate every thread to determine if the OP was smart enough to place it in the proper forum or not.

That's a little bit of what I was interested too, actually. There's some ambiguity. For me personally though, if it's a gun, a gun part, or something that goes on or in a gun, I'll post or look for it in the guns classifieds.

This makes sense, especially as I don't think anyone could reasonably expect unpaid staff to look at every post.

I think the solution to the "clogged classifieds" and the @Ryan Avery post "I ******* hate the classifieds" Is to charge $100/ year to use/look at, the classifieds. Way less clogged & way less problems.
The classifieds now are like quarter beer night at a college bar. You want less trouble think $5 domestics no happy hour. ;)

I'd pay that...if Admins added a button you could click that says "YOU POSTED IN THE WRONG SPOT FOOLIO!"

I agree, the classifieds ARE a freaking joke for guys to do a minimum number of posts and throw up their goods for sale. First six pages the majority are bumps from weeks or months ago. Anyone posting something new today is reverted to the second page within a half day.

Rokslide has got a moderator workload problem, if they can't fix it, it will become a joke more than it already is. Moderators are fine, but they obviously can't do what they're asked to because every one of them says they can't watch enough stuff to catch everything and it's up to participants to point it out to them. Make it a free-for-all, it's kind of what it is already, as I personally have not seen a post called out or otherwise moderated for other reasons either.
