Shipping extra vs. Shipped cost on large items:
It is the seller's responsibility to:
- list if the product sale price will include the shipping cost (Shipped)
- if not, provide a researched $ amount they will ship the product for. (Shipping extra)

Too many times now I've bought a pack or larger item from a seller who has come back asking for additional money because they "can't believe" the cost to ship it. Research the cost first prior to listing it, that is your responsibility as a seller.

I haven't run into this, but more often I'm the seller. I can say that shipping sucks. Each time I've sold something I've tried to figure out the shipping cost, but more often than not I've found out actual shipping is worse than projected - but in that case I've eaten the amount by which I've under-estimated.

simple enough to say the cost is $40 plus actual shipping....charge more for the shipping than you think the shipping will be and then refund the difference. For some folks it is too far to go to the place they can ship twice for each item. if your item can fit in a usps priority box then it is e-z, also e-z to have the different size boxes/envelopes at home to see which will work.

Agreed. But alot happens first in the mind (or should) when posting an item "shipped"; desired amount made on the sale, a cost to ship, then you're taking your total advertised shipped price and walking that figure back, considering in lower offers etc. If it doesn't fit in one of the USPS 2-Day Priority flat rate boxes, by common sense, I'm adjusting my sale price up enough to help mitigate my increased costs. If I failed that part as a seller, I'm not coming back to my guy and asking for more to make up my failure. Guys need to man up and take responsibility for their chit.

OP - do we need a revised rule or should these people who renege be called out? I think the custom has been pretty clear (either in the post or by asking) and if someone tries to renegotiate, the deal should be off and/or they get a poor review.

I have sold a few items not realizing what the shipping cost. Turned out it was a lot more than expected. I figured that the buyer and I made a deal so it was my fault I didn’t do the research. Now I do. It’s pretty easy to measure and weigh a box, type in the numbers and zip and get a price.

Shipping. One of the many reasons I stopped selling here and started selling on other platforms (eBay, Gunbroker, etc.) I got tired of people complaining about shipping or excepting free shipping. At one point I sold an item for 25% of its value because I thought I was "helping" my fellow Roksliders. No more. It gets really bad with the smaller items. People think sellers are making morey on shipping.. WE ARE NOT. It goes to the shipping companies.

I am still the only one who take a look on profiles peoples and do a little research?...yeah just like locking a sale thread when it SOLD

Yep, you definitely have to do your research with shipping. I was going to sell a pretty heavy tripod setup kit that weighed 11lbs, but shipping was ridiculous........so here it sits. 26 rounds of .22-250 ammo shipped to Missouri via UPS........almost $18........so here it sits.

Shipping at a UPS store is going to cost you much more than shipping from a Hub or boxing/printing a label and shipping from home.

Usps flat rate boxes are a great option for heavier and able options.
