rings vs mount

In need of some 34mm rings or mount, wondering the way to go. Really like what I have heard of the mpa mount but out of stock everywhere. Mpa's website says available on backorder, not sure how long that will be. Also looked at the Vortex PMR and like them, but wondering if one pieces would be a better direction?

Any other one piece mounts worth a look? I am not dropping $400 on a sphur, $229 for the mpa is a stretch. Anything else in that price range comparable?
