I’ve been considering picking up a Sparrow, so I’m interested in what other options you guys think are better

I think the sparrow is still a great value. It maybe older tech but is still one of the quietest cans. I have two because I swap between several hosts and there is no poi shift between the two. First round pop is noticeable only on pistols in my experience. No frp on my rifles.

Anyone have experience with these modular cans for rimfire?

I got the Sico Switchback because I thought I wanted a modular can. In the end I'm Lazy and just leave it in the long configuration. Having multiple sections is annoying because one always seems to come loose.

If I carry my MK4 for grouse this year while archery hunting I may shorted the can up a bit for weight and bulk.

Have you found the otter creek easy to clean?

Its in jail for me right now. But the answer is:

Yes, its titanium. CLR soak will do the trick no different than my current titanium can. Cant do CLR with aluminum, and apparently not supposed to do that with stainless steel either

The easier cleaning pays for itself. Ti is a minor upcharge vs SS or Al in the grande scheme

I have a Sparrow and love it. Cleaning is a bit of a chore, but you need to be able to clean a rimfire can or it’s quickly going to be an expensive carbon storage device.

I haven’t shot many rimfire suppressors back to back for comparison purposes, but I doubt there is much a difference in performance between popular models when using subsonic ammo.

But if you just want a new suppressor, by all means buy one and report back how they compare.

I am looking for another rimfire suppressor.
I have a Sparrow and it’s fine but wanting to try another, more current option. I was at the range recently and a fellow shooter had a Dead Air Mask, which I liked, due to the lower first round pop compared to my sparrow. There wasn’t a ton of difference after that but none the less, I would not mind another .22 can. I was petty much sold to get the Mask until I saw that Huxwrx has a new “flow through” suppressor that seems to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I like that it doesn’t have to be taken apart to clean.

What does “flow though” mean and how should I expect it compare to the Mask and Sparrow based on the specs and claim?

I have a huxwrx flow on a ruger mk iv and it is stupid quiet. No first round pop, just throw it in an ultrasonic cleaner 50/50 water and mean green concentrate for 15 minutes and it's good as new

I have a Surefire Ryder .22 suppressor. About average on sound suppression, but it excels in lack of POI shift. I use it on all my rimfire rifles and pistols, from .22 LR, .17 M2, .17 HMR and .22 Mag. When I change firearms, I generally verify sight in, but it never changes. Actually enhances accuracy from non-suppressed.

Have had the Surefire for several years. I think if I were to go to the trouble of getting another suppressor, I would look at the modular ones. Especially nice on the handguns to have the shorter lengths.
