Rifle Sling hook for shoulder straps

So my rifle sling constantly wants to slide off my shoulder when I’m hiking around while wearing my pack. I researched a little and could not find something exactly like I wanted, so I drew one on paper, my 11yo son made a 3D model of it and then 3D printed it. Came out exactly like I hoped. Secures the sling well but still allows me to quickly get it off my shoulder. I’ll field test it chasing bears in Montana next week.

Do you care to share the file? I’m pretty sure I can talk my son into printing one for me.

I’d love a copy of that file too. This is the most genius idea I’ve seen in a while. If you could get those into sporting goods stores for a 10-15 bucks every pack out there would have one on it.

I use shoe goo, a few dabs in the right places. I have to readd a time or too a season, but the stuff works for me.

Any chance you could post the file on here or send it me a copy? Evena picture would do to get the idea made. Much appreciated and if your kid wants to make a few bucks then sell the prints on etsy, there’s lots of printed gizmos there.

The slinghook is such a useful thing. I can not beleive how much better hiking with my rifle became when I started using one. Especially in thick bush or steep stuff. You just don't have to worry about your gun hitting the dirt so hiking becomes safer and more enjoyable. I made one 3D printed in Nylon so its really strong and has a nice finish. Love when something so simple has such a big impact.
