Rifle scopes you'd love to see Form test

More to the point, what good does it do anyone if their scope holds zero but ytheirr rings/mounts/bedding/action screws aren't tight and their rifle can't/doesn't hold zero during use/drops? Those are all solveable problems, but first they have to be identified, and they can only be identified by testing that specific set up.

So to anyone who says they can't test because the rest of their system is too unreliable to do the testing, why do you feel like it matters if one particular representative of that scope held zero during drop testing for some other guy on a forum?

He does, but I don't think anything specialized is needed. Anyone here has a rifle/mount setup capable of not being the weakest link.
Lets be honest, there is really only a handful of guys that we could trust to set up their rifles correctly and shoot straight. I am all for guys testing their own shit, but most results will need to be taken with a grain of salt unless they have been vetted and confirmed legit…🤣🤷🏻‍♂️🤔

But everyone shoots 1/2moa.

I ran through three scopes following Form's process but nobody has taken me up on the offer to test theirs. My problem is I don't have anything to test that I haven't already.

I might have an old Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x you can test when I get a new scope. Not sure it'll be useful, but hey free data.

I would like to see an evaluation of the SWFA SS 2.5-10x32 Ultralight. SWFA has such a great reputation for reliability. I would like to know if the SWFA SS line holds up even when pushed to the extreme of a 9.5oz scope, and see where/if it fails.
Second (at least) this. Reliable manufacturer, cheap, light and non-dialing for those who don't need that. Wouldn't be surprised if it can't take it, but if it can I bet it would be a god fit for a lot of people.

Is the Bushnell LRHS-2 4.5-18x44 on the list? Im thinking about ordering one and could donate to the cause
I have an extra one sitting right now since I just sent the gun it was on off to be redone. I’d be willing to send it to be tested as well

What is happening with the testing? Looks like guys are still donating cash and scopes…has it been put on pause?

It's a slow process.

Donations last I checked $320 bucks

I've bought three scopes well over $5000 dollars

Form had shot well over $2000 in ammo and I just ordered $1000 dollars more.
Thats too bad. You guys were getting a lot of attention with these drops tests from a lot of different forums, scope manufacturers were aware, you guys created quite a stir. Seems like a good business decision to keep this going full steam ahead. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh, I know manufactures are watching I've heard from a few.

You will see more scopes dropping soon....

I may have missed it earlier, what’s best/easiest way to send some money for donations?

EDIT: missed the giant sticky at top of subforum.

@Ryan Avery - can you add a stickied thread with running list of scopes that Form (1) has tested (with links to test), (2) is testing, (3) is looking to test but needs donations? It'd sure make it easier to keep up with and potentially donate a scope.

Also, @Formidilosus, what caliber are you using to test? I'd think that at least the initial tests could be done with 22lr to save money.

These tests could be turned into YouTube videos just to generate some revenue and expand the audience.

308 win. A .22 could be used for some things, however wind drift is a problem and recoil can and will show issues that do not show up in .22’s.

I don’t know that “expanding the audience” is a goal that Ryan or I have. And I am not trying to make money in any way. I have spent over $3,000 personally on just the ones that have been evaluated and that doesn’t include the cost of my scopes that were used. We’re doing this because it needs to be done, not because we want to.
