Hey guys,

going on a winter boar hunt in a week and change. I am looking for the warmest, quality hunting boots available. My feet will literally be immersed in some form of snow or ice for 4 days straight.

I don't have a budget, I like quality boots! There is a Cabelas on the way to the area we are hunting, however, i am not sure if they offer a boot I will be interested in.

The "herters" 2000g boot gets rood reviews, however, I'm not sure if its garbage or not.

thanks for the input!

Mike.

If you're moving you shouldn't need much insulation. I've found that a good pair of waterproof boots and some merino socks will keep my feet warm in freezing temps. As long as I'm moving.

I would go with the Schnee's Hunter II pack boots with the air bob lug sole. Great warmth and traction. I also would suggest getting the 13" height for better calf and ankle support.

If it's really cold I would go with these, but if it were me I'd still get the Hunter II boots. My feet are always warm though.

Now for something pretty cool and I think would be great would be these. This is essentially the Hunter II boot only made using American bison leather.

get a spare set of liners for the schnees whenyou get them.
i have a pair of baffin titans also.

What kind (stationary blind, spot and stalk, etc) of hunting will you be doing and what temps? I’m curious where you’re going?

Like someone else pointed out...if you’re going to be mobile, a good pair of insulated hiking boots (i.e. Crispi Nevadas) with heavy merino socks and some gaiters will get you through just about anything. If you’re going to be sitting still for long periods you’ll prolly want some pac boots. Growing up in Wyoming we did an awful lot of winter hunting and trapping in Sorel boots. Those Schees boots look awesome but if you’re not going to need them a lot, that seems like a lot to spend on a single trip. A pair of heated socks or just some foot warmers in your boots may do the trick for stationary hunting on a single trip.

Bingo!
I own Hunter II's
Bought my hunting daughter (adult) Hunter II's
I've recommended them to friends a dozen times. No one I know has purchased them and regretted it.
