I'm sure this has been talked about before but I can't seem to find it. I'm looking at diving into the quilt world and trying to decide which way to go. Those of you that have either one why did you choose the one you did? What made it appeal to you more than the other? I like the option of the convert to make a sleeping bag to avoid drafts, however I hate using a sleeping bag and much prefer to just wrap up in a blanket. Any thought or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Convert users are those that just can't get away from having a bag. I use a revelation and love it. If I were wanting to save the most weight I would get an Enigma with the sewn footbox.

I just bought a convert. Still waiting on it to show up so can’t say much.

I have slept in woobies a bunch and had taken to draping my mummy bag over myself instead of zipping up. The convert still gives my an option to go enclosed if I want or quilt it. For me it was a good compromise vs going full quilt.

I just got the revelation a few weeks ago after getting the bug to try out the quilt life. I have a (20F) slick bag already. The convert just seemed like essentially the same thing but with zipper facing down.

Ultimately I went Revelation (long + x-wide) for the flexibility. For my overall sleep system to cover a broader range, I got this quilt in a 0 degree (I sleep cold anyway). B/c of this low temp rating it was important for me to be able to vent it or completely open it up so that it doesn't get too hot. Also, I am not worried about the footbox opening b/c I always stuff my clothing for the next day down in there anyway, that way I don't have to put on Ice cold pants 1st thing in the morning.

I'll know soon enough how well this theory works out. This time next week I'll be on a flight to Idaho and then I'll have 2 weeks to see how she handles.
