Restocked SWFA 3-9x42 Gen 1

Scope caps and a ranger band installed. If you haven’t applied a little dab of grease to the o rings inside the turret caps I strongly suggest it! Much better feel to the turrets now.
What scope cap sizes work from butler creek?

I found a glitch in the matrix.

I'm zero'ing my boys rifles at 50 yards with 40gr CCI standard velocity.

I tried to spin up to 14.3 mil on the red one to hit a plate at 300 yards and it wouldn't go.

I went to label them and the red one is zero'd on the 3rd rev of elevation and the brown gun is zero'd on the 2nd rev of elevation. Guns are "identical" except for the cosmetic differences and the RH versus LH.

That seems like a lot of mil for 200. I think I'm at 13.6 mil at 300 yards. I dialed 3.6 and used the 10 mil hash the other day

Good catch, I meant 300. I edited my post.

I wonder if I sent it back to SWFA...which one is off spec?

With my luck, it's probably the other one that will dial to 300 yards that is out of spec...

I want to say you get 5 rotations ? I’m already at like 3 where the .22 is zeroed (but that’s a 6x).

I put a new 3-9x on the red gun. It zeroed at rev 3 elevation.

I put the scope from the red gun on the brown gun. It shot low and required 4.8 mil of adjustment to zero.

Send it back?

Live with it?

Keep it and brag about how it will shoot 5 mil farther than yours?
I'm having trouble following your measurements. So when you say the previous scope on the red gun was able to turn 14.3 down from zero, is that in the same area as Rev 3 (15 ish mils up)?

And adjusting that scope down 4.8 mils when you put it on the other rifle to zero matched what the first scope did?

I must be missing something because it sounds like the scopes are consistent but maybe the barrels arent?

Yeah...I wrote it stupid. I just realized I still need to take the new scope back off and install the one from the red gun on the brown gun...

Swap scopes and check?
I put a new scope in the red gun and it zero'd on the 3rd rev for elevation.

I put the scope from the red gun in the brown gun and the brown gun in the red gun.

Both zero'd on the 3rd rev for elevation.

I'm thinking before I moved the scopes around that the beginning of the bell of the scope may have been in the ring on the brown gun and pushing it up one rev.

Came up with this idea today, castration bands, great grip. It helps if you have the right tool to put them on. View attachment 977109

I was thinking of using rubber horn wraps from my roping box, but bands'll work too.

There's going to be some weird looks at Christmas this year when folks ask Roksliders for clarification on why their list had "fishnet leggings & castration bands".

I recently mounted one in a set of UM Tikka mediums. First time using those rings. Sighted in at 100, I only have 2 revs of elevation left. I would prefer being closer to center, but was wondering if this was normal.
