Restocked SWFA 3-9x42 Gen 1

My local Scheels doesn't have a 30 obj in stock, so I'm just going to use the 29 and see how it does.

One gripe I have about the BC caps is that the objective cap flips open so easily while I've got it strapped to my pack. Maybe the extra tight fit will mitigate that issue

Good luck. With BC caps, I’ve found the tighter they fit on the objective or ocular, the EASIER they are to inadvertently flip open. It’s the thing I dislike the most about them.

I use the Vism, they have a nice clamp and foam tape if needed. I like how they flip pen and lay flat.

What kind of grease is everyone using on the turret o-rings?
I used a food safe grease I use on the O-ring seals on my homebrew Corny kegs in my kegerator. Whether it was the best or not I don’t have a clue. It worked lmao.
I was more interested in how hobbies can overlap and support each other lol.

Looks like 4 units in stock as of now

Cyclops for 10% off

Ordered a second one after being thoroughly impressed with the first from a few weeks ago. By far the best money I’ve spent on a scope

Got them here. I contacted the seller, who’s known on multiple forums, and asked if he was still making them for the 3-9. He responded that he did have a 3-9 kit available and to send him a message with the purchase asking for them. So I bought the kit and sent him a message. These come very well recommended.

My shims arrived today and are a perfect fit. I messed with them even though I haven’t mounted the scope yet. Bought on flea bay in the link in my earlier post. Messaged the seller and asked for a 3-9 kit. Told the seller Tim that I wanted them for the 3-9 and he promptly shipped them out. They fit the 3-9 like a glove. Now I just actually need to get the scope on a rifle. Soon.

I did the same and installed them tonight. Great fit. I sanded down one of the smallest shims and got it to stop .1 mils past my 100 yard zero.

If you guys are buying the zero stop shims, save the side some money and buy them direct.

Instructions from Tim...

"Thank you for your interest in our Zero Stop shim sets for SWFA Super Sniper scopes. We support the following scopes:

Fixed power models – the entire line. $27/set

3-15 X 42 $27/set

5-20HD $27/set (Note: SWFA says these will NOT void the warranty now. They are approved.)

Fixed power HD models $27/set

All the scopes except the 5-20 are available with MOA or milrad turrets. You MUST specify which style turret you have. If in doubt, it’s noted on top of the turret.

There is an installation video here:

Note that the video is for the original fixed power scopes, but the basic procedure is similar for all the different scopes. The actual number of shims and markings will vary from model to model.
