Hey all, getting my RUM ready for my Utah LE deer tag this year. Started shooting 100 grain (weight) behind the Barnes bullets that came with the gun. It was shooting well, but I heard so much about Parkers that I ordered some of the 327 Black Max's. They just got delivered and I am excited to get dialed in. Where should I start for my powder measurements? Stick with 100 and see how it does? TIA

Bh209 is 100gr by volume

By weight is over charging

Actually it is not.

Western has tested BH209 for the RUM rifles. The maximum charge is 160grs VOLUME, which equals 112grs by WEIGHT.

To the OP................. I would not increase the WEIGHT beyond 105grs. If its shooting well at 100grs by WEIGHT, then remain with that charge. There's not enough gain by increasing the charge. Accuracy trumps velocity, always.

Note also...... If you're shooting BH and using the OEM breech plug, you'll likely end up gas cutting the nipple and when it goes, it'll go quickly and you have no choice but to stop shooting until a replacement plug is installed.
I HIGHLY recommend the Arrowhead replacement ignition system for your RUM.

I’ve got the Arrowhead plug in my RUM and am shooting 325 grain Fury bullets with 98 grains by weight BH209.

It’s a good combo.
