I was able to luck my way into finding a 1000 ct. of Rem 9 1/2. Is there any reason to believe these would be any less desirable for load development than some of the other common large rifle primers? Most of my reloading manuals show CCI 200 or Federal 210s being used (some rare instances of WLR also). I am just working up hunting loads for a 6.5 creedmoor. Trying out 143 eldx, 130 sgk, and 127 lrx. If anybody has some insight on using these primers it would be appreciated if shared. Thanks.

I use Rem 9-1/2 in my 6.5CM...they produced a load that was more consistent in my rifle than Fed 210s (my general go to primer). I think they will work perfectly for you.

They'll work fine. I'm a fan of the Winchester primers myself, not sure why most reloading manuals focus on CCI and Federal primers. Right now, if it fits, use it, any large rifle primer is better than none. Just drop a couple grains and work back up with any hot-side recipes to be safe.

Just did some load dev work today with my 6.5 PRC. Shot two groups- one with Federal 210s and one with Remington 9 1/2s. ES of the group loaded with Federals was 43, group with the Remington was 21. Both were right around .5 MOA.
