Reloads

To clarify I was wondering how you carry your magazines in your pouches. 1. For AR reloads and 2. For your hunting rifles.

The orientation of rounds up or rounds down in the pouch. Rounds forward or to the rear. The beer can or index refers to how you grab the magazine which could be inferred from the orientation. My bad. I was just wondering if anybody did it not the same for one reason or another.

I tend to limit my rodeos to 5 rounds max, so never have to grab an extra mag in haste to have to worry about which way it’s placed in the lid of my pack 💁🏻‍♂️

In Texas we have these little target rich opportunities called pigs and reloads are occasionally justified.

The only rifle I hunt with that's fed from a detachable mag is an AR. The top of the mag down, left or right hand determines orientation.
Look at some military stuff or join a LARPing forum. I'm sure it'll be full of experts.

lol, this is funny.

To answer the OPs question for an AR. Assuming you are right handled, magazines carried on the hip at 9 o’clock should be carried bullets facing rearward. On the reload it would be a beer can grab and to the mag well.
Mags carried in a chest rig in front would be bullets facing to the right. You can do a bottom grab and to the magwell, or if you can get your hand low enough and behind the magazine, you would do a reverse grab (back of hand toward your chest, pinkie on top). This give a better purchase on the magazine but with some mag pouches it’s not enough to get a hold of.

For hunting with a bolt gun, just extra rounds in my right hand pocket.

The only AR I have is bolt action and it's for sale so I definitely don't have any experience carrying magazines in pouches.

The pig issue sounds fun.🙂
I do shoot AR's occasionally but really dont have to reload from a pouch.
For hunting purposes, I carry two extra mags.......one in my pack lid and one on my bino harness which would be the one I would grab for a fast reload.
I'm a lefty so I would grab it with my left hand pulling it out with a couple fingers, rotate the mag as I carry it rounds facing down and towards the binos.
Hopefully the photos make sense.
