So I happened upon I pile of RL 26 and I’m finding that there’s not much data out there for loads. I’ve seen people running it in 260, 6.5, 30-06, WSM, magnums etc.

For those of you using it and willing to share your data, it would be greatly appreciated.

Obviously I/others shouldn’t copy your load without further study and due diligence, but some pointers in the right direction of your loads would be helpful

I've used in 260ai, 22&6 creed, 240,257,270 wby, 25-06, 7 wsm and 300 wsm
It's just a sweet spot burn rate that makes it work in so many cartridges, usually picking up some velocity compared to other loads. Normally best accuracy towards the top end like it works better with more case fill
Also normally 215m even in the standard cases where a large rifle primer would suffice the magnum primers dropped sd/es.

I use it in my creed 46 grains in lapua brass slightly compressed 140 eldm 2775, with the creed I don’t think you could put enough in the case to make it dangerous. I just loaded some last night in the WSM it was hard finding load data But I started at 65.5 and worked up, I’m shooting after work I’ll report back after

In my 6.5 CM I have taken RL26 up to 45gr with no pressure signs at my current seating depth. I lowered it to 44.7 and started working seating depth. (away from the lands)

When my 7mm barrel gets here I will try some RL26.

I tried RL26 in a friends 7 rem mag while I had some left in the hopper 67.5 .02 off 1B20495B-895C-444E-A616-0ECEF862797F.png3A9078BF-8377-4E3C-AAA1-3F3EB177CC9C.jpeg

first shots with the WSM I bore sighted/ zeroed at 50 then went to 100, the left is first shot at 65.5 dialed over which is the right shot then 3 shot group at 66, I’ll take it for first 3 shot group ever with this gun F1B85E7D-3DEC-4605-B671-6F03A28A5358.png

I’m using it in several cartridges. I first started using it in my 7 SAUM. It sends 160 Partitions 2980fps and 160 Accubonds 2950fps out of a 22” factory barrel with great accuracy.

Starting load of RL26 on your 7 SAUM ?

I run 57 gr in my 6.5 PRC with 124 hammers, 127 LRX, and 140 Berger’s with ADG brass and 210M’s.

amazing how accurate and fast the powder is with low es and sd’s.

tempted to run in my 300 WM as well but trying to use up my RL23 for that first.

7mm RMag 26in. barrel Abolt. 66.2 gr. / 160 nosler part. 3080fps. avg. through a Caldwell so the number is subjective.
Very accurate out to 300 yards.

270 Win, 24" bl, Kimber 8400 classic; 61 gr R26 with 140 accubonds; 3110 fps, 5/8" 3 shot groups, 1" 5 shot @ 100 yds.

300 win mag, 26" bl, Kimber 8400 classic; 200 gr ELD-X, 74 gr R26; ~2970 fps; loaded out to 3.51"; added a longer magazine box to be able to do this. 1/2"-5/8" 3 shot groups at 100 yds.

Tough for me to find, so just loading the .270 win with it now. Have a 7 SAUM that I'm itching to try it in.

In MY 7mag I worked up to 69.5grs of RL26 pushing a 160gr pill 3000fps all day long with 4fps deviation.

Super accurate load in this rifle.

7RM with 160 accubonds. I will have to go check my data but i think i loaded up to 69.0gr of rl26 with great accuracy and just shy of 3000 fps iirc.

300wsm with 165gr AB’s over 72.3 grains R26 @ 3100fps from a 22” barrel. I started around 68 grains and worked up. Still haven’t hit pressure signs but I’m happy with the load. I’m also loading fairly long but can’t remember the coal, it’s north of 3” though. FYI, Speer has info on their website for R26.

Using it in the 6.5 hipster express with the 134 shock hammer. Gets 2875 and tiny groups. Could only get 47.0gr in Lapua LP cases, switched to Hornady and ended up at 48.0 to get that velocity. Got up to 48.5 in, but it was more crunch even after settling than I wanted to deal with. Using 215 primers, no signs of pressure. Next fastest powder I found for this combo was StaBall 6.5 at 2850ish, but it didn’t shoot quite as well.
