Recommend me new mid-late season pants

Excellent. Hard to argue with resisting barbed wire fencing! I've read (with some skepticism) the sizing on FL stuff is all over the place. Did you have to get an odd size to fit from what you normally would?

Apologies for all the questions, but I'm in a similar quandary as the OP, and this pant was on my short list.
I ordered the same size as my jeans, and they fit perfect. They have enough room for a pair of long underwear.

Do you find them to be pretty durable? Not talking about busting through a thicket, but you brush past sticks and the occasional thorn when walking through the woods.
They have been top notch for me, i don’t think twice where i am walking with them. Thickets. Clearcuts. Etc. If it holds deer, i am wearing them.

Someone made a comment earlier about the knee pads. I’ve never been a big fan of knee pads, simply remove move them and no issue. I saved them in case i find a reason or application to wear them

Perfect. That's all I would need under them in the coldest. I don't tuck in crazy layers, either.

Excellent Intel! Not sure what people are doing to them to complain about durability. I'm generally pretty easy on my stuff anyway. I also feel the same way about the knee pads. Nice to have the option either way, but I've never been in a situation where I needed them.

I wear my timberlines with the knee pads and pair them with 200gr smartwool. This has been sufficient for day hunting, all the way to just below zero. The pleated butt and knee’s (especially with pads) are great in snow - don’t get wet and don’t get cold.
I think barb-wire and heavy cactus barb is the only thing to chew them up as well.

Yeah, I like Sitka normally, but in this instance they don't seem to have a pant that's comparable to the other two. I'm especially looking for some kind of fleece lining for warmth and side zips when that's too much.

Talus hybrid or Axis hybrid. I have the Talus because they aren't as insulated as the Axis allowing for more movement without sweat. The knee pads are mildly annoying while walking, but worth having. Buddy swears by the Axis for late season coyote sits.

I'm surprised so many people are recommending Corrugate Foundry pants when the OP is looking for something warmer than Sitka Timberlines. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Corrugate Foundary pants, but the Timberlines are much warmer. The Catalyst Foundary is going to be similar to the Timberlines. I've used both and while there's things I like better about the Timberlines, I ended up sticking with the Catalysts mostly due to the side zippers.

I personally wouldn't want anything warmer than either of those for active hunting. When temps get cold enough I have some puffy pants to go over them and stay super comfortable when stationary. I've also used my rain pants as a wind blocking layer a few times with great success as well.

I have a pair of Kryptek Njord pants that are essentially fleece lined and really warm, but I don't like hiking in them at all.

Check out Asio gear Windproof Sherpa-Lined Pants. I bought mine this past season and highly recommend them, I now prefer them over my Stratus pants because I was able to wear them later into the season with a good base layer before having to break out my cold weather gear....

Anybody wearing the Kuiu Encounter pants? They seem a bit more appropriate for stationary whitetail hunting but not sure about warmth.

I see Kuiu have a sale coming at the end of this week, so it might be a good time to act.

The corrugate foundry is a nice hot weather semi-durable pant, and I've been surprised read through this as well. I grab my catalyst or those fleece lined Beyond pants from the bucket when it gets into the 20s as a high.

I also think base layers when really active are a curse, and puffy pants are bliss.

Sitka 330 zipoff bottoms and kuiu guide pants have treated me well. Tested all weekend in upper teens to 30 degree temps and I have no complaints.

I'll be picking up a pair of down pants for times of more inactivity to go over the top.

I've worn the Corrugate Foundry for 2 years or so with heavy use. The normal Corrugate material is extremely durable - add the panels and it's even tougher. It will pick a little but I've got Corrugates that are 8 years old with countless miles on them. I don't hesitate to go through the thickets or briars with either. I wear them on nearly every hunt.

That said - If it's below 20 I want something with a little bit of lining. That's why I picked up the UA on clearance recently. They're nearly perfect but the knee pad thing isn't as water resistant as the rest of the pant.

I'd look at the Kuiu Guide Pro Pant. That was next on my list. Or Stone Glacier, I tried those on and was very impressed but weren't lined.

Im thinking first lite catalyst foundry pants might fit the bill for ya. I dont have a pair yet but am going to get a pair before next season. I had the original catalyst pants for a couple seasons and like them a lot but I really like the look of the pocket layout and the side vents on foundry version.

Interesting. Do you think they'd be warm enough (w/ a base layer) for stationary hunting in 20-30 degree temps?

That’s what i wear for most of my hunts. If in the 20-30’s, layer with first lite furnace or maybe Kuiu heavyweight fleece

Nah they are more of an active pant id say in that type of weather. Throw puffy pants over that and youd be good though

Depends on how long your sitting and how cold you naturally get. But I'd say absolutely. I do that all the time with equivalent warmth pants for 3-4 hr sits.

Last night got a bit too cold.. but it felt like 6 and I just had a 120 merino and windstopper UA pants. Had deer on me my before I cold layer up.. I was OK but my feet and hands were the problem. Not my legs really. Idk my legs don't really get that cold though.
