Recommend an Archery Backstop

I need an archery backstop. I’ve thought of using used conveyor belts but that has been hard for me to find. I thought of using hay bails but people tell me that always leads to injured livestock or wildlife. What are some good solutions?

Rubber stall mats, but damn have they gotten expensive.

If you can find an old faded one that someone is looking to get rid of, a hot tub cover makes a great backstop.

1/2" thick rubber horse stall mat. You'll need something stout to hang it from and it's a pain to extract arrows from it, but it will do its job of stopping arrows very well.

Old carpet just hanging on something works pretty well. I used one fotr awhile and never had an arrow go through both layers. Seems like it wouldn't work right. Just hang loosely.

4x6 stall mat from tractor supply for $50 Works well. I built a frame to hold mine. Works great on my bow and cross bow…unless you have a flyer and hit the support and bury your broadhead and break your arrow…like an idiot.

I’ve bought a cloth backstop from Amazon.

(Aoneky 2mm Archery Backstop) with a sheet of plywood behind it mounted to a 1 1/2” pvc frame for my 10 year old son to practice. Absorbs his wild arrows with no problem. Haven’t tried to send one of my arrows in it yet though.​

Oo, I think I can get an old pool liner. Maybe several layers of that would work well…and be free-ish.
