Trying to help a friend find a sleeping bag with the following requirements:

$300
20 degree
Rectangular (moves around a lot at night and doesn't like the idea of a drafty quilt or being constricted by a mummy bag)
Reasonably packable (we will be in a canvas tent at base camp but may want to spike camp a night or two)

Sea to summit makes a good wide bag for rolling sleepers as a whole bag. If you want an option for a half bag then BA or Zen Bivy would be your best bet.

Zen is technically a "quilt" but with the foot box and attachment points on the side it functions way more like a large bag then a quilt.

Check out the Nemo Riff spoonshape bags for side sleepers. 15degree rating, 800 fill down. Not rectangular but has a lot more room than a conventional mummy. Top notch construction and materials.

I bought a big Agnes 2 in 1 ultralight bag. It’s basically a mummy inside a quilt. Rated at 0, think I paid $450. After using it last year, i don’t think I’ll ever go with anything else. I don’t even zip up the mummy unless it’s super cold.

+1 for Zen Bivy
