Mathews HTR NoCam at 70lbs and 85% let-off and a 30” draw. Shooting ICS hunter 300 shafts at 30.5” cut right to the front of the riser with 125gr three blade VPAs, Blazer vanes and standard 21gr Easton inserts. FOC is 13%. Tunes very well and groups tight using a Scott Rhino.

Nothing wrong with that set up if it fits you and you shoot well with it. Are you asking opinions on what to up grade or what?

You may tighten up your groups a bit if you decrease your let off to 80 percent or so, but you may need a new mod to do so, what sight and release are you running?

Just trying to get an objective look at my gear. The rest is an AAE DOA drop away and the sight is a Cobra Buckhead that I’m replacing over the winter. Torn between a SpottHogg or Black Gold. I shoot a Scott Rhino release.

Post some grouping pics at different ranges so we can see how well you shoot it because that’s all that matters

Spotthogg all the way, those things will take an absolute beating.

I find myself throwing my bow around just to see if I knock my Hogg Father out of sight. It hasn’t moved..

If I was using a fixed pin set up I would definitely run SpottHogg, however bowshops have an easier time making tapes for BlackGold due to the vertical tape display, it’s alot easier to run calipers on the MBG

At the end of the day for a bowhunter it is all about maximizing the terminal performance of the arrow and the confidence of the hunter. If you are supremely confident in that setup, shoot it and be happy. If you are not supremely confident in the setup, tweak the things that matter most first which imo is the arrow and broadhead setup followed by sight, rest and release.

Consistent long range accuracy is always my highest priority with arrows, with durability running second as far as hunting arrows go. But they go hand in hand for me. I don't want a super accurate arrow if it can't take a beating, and I don't want an indestructible arrow that isn't super accurate.

As long as you're happy with their accuracy and performance, then they're a winner for you.

Your setup will work fine on anything you want to hunt in North America. Good broadhead equipped arrow flight from a well tuned and quiet bow, a sharp broadhead that is durable and good shot placement is what it is about. I shot a whole lot of critters ....elk, moose, bears, sheep, goats etc with arrows the weight of yours or less going slower than yours through the years....

I like Black Gold sights and have not had a failure in the 13 years I'v used them, fixed pin and more recently an Ascent slider. Also just bought a new BG Whitetail slider (5-pin) and really like it and the weight is <8 ounces. Short and compact to the bow with the dial knob shortened from the Ascent will make it an even better hunting sight for me.

Good luck hunting!
