I'm looking for a new rangefinder for my wife for mothers day (at her request). She wants it to go easily out to 1000 yds to take advantage of her new Bergara HMR 7 mag. I have a Leupold 1200, but she wants something different. Any suggestions, especially with firsthand knowledge would be much appreciated.

if it's for rifle only and you don't want all the bells and whistles, leica 2400r would be my suggestion. it should comfortably read 1000 yards under most conditions. if using it for bow too, look at the sig 2400/2200. if she wants ballistics in it too then even and older leica 1600b should do the trick.

I would look at the Leica 2400-r if you don’t need the bells and whistles. If your looking to pair it with your kestrel/foretrex than I would suggest a 2400bdx from sig or the 2700.com from Leica.

I would look at the Vortex 4000 for a mono, or the Vortex Fury 5000 for a bino. Great performance, and hard to beat the lifetime warranty coverage on the electronics! Don't think anyone else does that.

I agree with everyone who said that they like the Sig. I have the Kilo 2000 and it has performed well for me. I hear that the vortex fury 5000 performs very well too. I hope that she likes the kilo 2200 MR. What optics does she have on the Bergara?

I put a Leupold VX 3i 6.5-20×50 on it in medium height Talley lightweights. Don't know much about how it shoots yet, I'm fussing around with some different loads with Eld-x and Berger hybrids. She'll get to shoot it next week to break in the barrel and start load development. Overall, I'm impressed initially with the rifle itself; the trigger is crisp and it seems balanced well. Once her rangefinder and bipod show up we'll get it dialed in and go thump some rockchucks with it.

Do any of you guys have the Sig 2200 with BDX? does it output MOA adjustments for scopes?

I'm looking into the 2200BDX myself. Hopefully it's all good just like most of the reviews and experiences that I've read about

Yes it does with an app via bluetooth to your phone. once you put in gun, bullet, zero, etc info you can range something. It will tell you distance then adjustments in MOA
