I'm looking for a rangefinder that will mostly be used for bowhunting in the western states at longer distances. Here are the three I'm most interested in along with some of their features. All are angle compensating. All are priced around $200. Below are the differences.

Leupold Full Draw 2: says it has the ability to separate the target behind grass/brush. It has a lot of features, but that could be confusing. 4x Optics. Says it is waterproof. Customer ratings are average.

Nikon Arrow ID 3000: says it has the ability to separate the target behind grass/brush. It has reasonable features without the confusing extras. 4x Optics. Says it is water resistance (not waterproof). Customer ratings are fairly good

Sig Sauer KILO 850: is a very simple rangefinder that can also be used for rifle hunting. It doesn't say it has the ability to separate the target behind grass/brush but it is the fastest rangefinder that constantly searches and then it is up to you to sort out which distance is correct. 6x Optics. It says that it's water resistant (not waterproof). It generally has the best customer ratings.

What have your experiences been with these? Can the Leupold and Nikon really separate a deer standing behind brush? Can't the Sig Sauer do that too? Is water resistant good enough or should it be waterproof? I don't care about a warranty - all I care about is dependability.

Thanks in advance!

Im using the Leupold RX1000 and its been fantastic really bright screen and has angle compensation you can find them for 175$ on sale sometimes.

On my Leupold you can set in the menu the ability to mark first target or last which is how they claim to separate the confusion of bushes/deer/bushes effect. You still have to be on the target pretty good.

I am gonna keep this for archery as it is flawless and, well, it's a Luepold

But for rifle I am gonna get Leicas $600 set up. Been reviewing these a lot.
I was sold on A SIG, but read some issues with the one set that were consistently similar in the reviews. And it wasn't good.
Take reviews for what they are worth, if A guy gets an animal with what he used, he raves about it, if he doesn't, none of his stuff was any good.

Leica is a great product as is Sig for rifle type LR Rf.

For archery, all 3 of your choices will get you there.

just saw Camera land was having a special sale on the very range finder from Leica I was wanting:

As New Demo, Leica CRF Rangemaster 1600-R Rangefinder #40537 reduced to only $499.99
Eye Safe IR Laser
10-1600 Yard Measurement Range
HDC and AquaDura Fully Multi-Coated

This is perfect for my range of hunting and allows me to leave my Luepold set up for archery

There seems to be a lot of good reviews for the Sig. But has anybody used the Kilo850 to shoot through grass or brush? Has anybody used the Kilo850 and had a moisture problem?

My dad has the sig kilo 850 and I have the kilo 1250. We both are very pleased with them. I would definitely recommend

I chose the Leupold Full Draw 2 because it is waterproof and I found a great deal locally. Still considering a Sig for a backup.

I'll report back in a few months to provide some experiences after hunting seasons have closed.
