i currently have an sig kilo 5k, I want to be be able to have my ballistics past 800 yards.

This is where I want to get your opinions on what do you think would be the best option.

1) keep the 5k and get a kestrel to have my ballistics out past 800 yards
2) sell the 5k and get the 8k?

Revic BR4 is a great rangefinder. Pair it with a Caldwell wind reader & you'll have everything you need. I picked up one from Doug. Be sure to mention the Rokslide discount.

Sig 8k is a nice unit, but people have been having issues with it working reliably in colder weather.

I'm sure you could find a deal on the Sig Kilo 2400 if you're on a little tighter budget. Great little rangefinder! Never had any issues with mine before I upgraded to the BR4.

Thanks, I’ll take a look at it.
