Ramshot grand experience

Anyone have any real experience with ramshot grand? Wondering how it stacks up to the reloading manual info. I found staball hd to be little lack luster.

I've tried three of their powders in 4 different guns and none shot well for me. I really wanted Hunter to run in my 30-06 too.

totally agree I had a pound of Accurate 3100 go bad on me. The brand may be the luck of the draw.

I recently got a couple pounds but haven’t loaded it yet. Going to try it in my .280 Rem with 162 ELDX’s, 7mag with 165 Sierra Gamechangers and maybe my .257 AI with 115 Ballistic Tips, though the .257 might be a reach. Hoping I can get better load densities with higher velocities, especially in the .280. As was mentioned above, I’ll use a grain or two over Ramshot Magnum suggestions as my starting loads, as it seems the data I’ve seen that uses both Grand and Magnum shows slightly higher starting and ending loads with Grand than with Magnum.

I just got done developing a 270 wsm load with the 129 lrx and 75 grains of Grand. Norma brass, Federal 215M primers, 2.85 COAL (actually a hair longer because I used a drop tube and compressed powder). I got 3350fps, with pretty good sd and outstanding accuracy. Luckily for me, the max charge shot way better than the lower ones, since I like the most velocity I can get accuracy with for monos. The first 2 shots went into the same hole, with the third about 3/8" directly above them. These were fired from a Tikka t3x lite, with less than 100 rounds on it, so other brands of rifles might be faster. The other 2 charge weights I tried were 73 and 74 gtains, and velocity was right where it should have been from Hodgdon data, albeit their data was for 130gr ttsx.
