Here's another angle.

Was this ram from radium, if so he use to have both horns then the one now hes gone.

Ya it was radium, I sent the pictures to the biologist, and he sent me back a picture of him with both. Haven't been able to get a hold of him in the last few days to find out his fate.

I think he may have been hit by a vehicle, that's how he may have lost the one horn as well, hard to keep track so many of the rams are killed by vehicles there.
2 were caught up in fences and died in the last few months as well.

I doubt big fish will give up the location, but I would wager region 6 DNS.
Resident hunters are only harvesting about 10% of their allocated numbers of stone sheep in region 6 every year, lots of stompers dying of old age in region 6.

I had assumed somewhere in region 6 they were hiding, I'll just have to put some boots on the ground in that region and see what turns up. As I understand it, everyone goes into region 7B for stone's so perhaps there is good logic to making a stone trip up into the Skeena for 2014, based on 10% stat? I've never been into this area but I presume it's very challenging access, more so then North of Fort Nelson?

Here's a pic of the only full curl ram I saw in 13 days of hunting in the DCUA in Alaska back in 2011. He looked incredible laying there surveying his territory. Took this picture from about 7-800 yards and was able to outsmart him and got within 225. The third pic is of a Brooks Range ram I took in August of 1995 and was my first ram.

Thanks fellas. The one on the wall will be a tough one to beat for me, even though he's no 40"er. I measured his bases shortly after taking him and they taped out a bit over 14" on each side, which is very good for a Brooks Range ram. Shot him at a bit over 350 yards, my longest kill shot ever taken and I had no idea he still had his lamb tips until I walked up to him and saw them for the first time. Now i've got to find one for my wife, she absolutely loves being in the sheep mountains.

I don't know much about the sheep herds in south dakota. Are there many hunting opportunities?

Not positive on numbers, but I think 2 resident tags and 2013 was the first gov tag. I think it went for $85K. Some MT sheep, not far from me, are heading down there soon as well.
