What’s the best all around rain gear on the market? Price point and durability?

I’ve been looking at the KUIU chugach. But looking for other options and why?

I’m also 6’3 200 pounds and wear a 32x38 pair of jeans.

I've tried a bunch and the Sitka Dewpoint is probably still my favorite. So light and packable. Pit zips too. Get it on sale. I'd never pay full price for their stuff.

My kuiu kutana has been bulletproof. Unbelievably tough and waterproof. I have a set of kuiu yukon that feel more robust in build but is heavier. As with everything with kuiu size up.

I really like the dew point jacket. It nails the features/weight - the past versions are pretty affordable and have the “good” DWR.

The only pants I’ve found that I like are Arcteryx LEAF LT.

Good durable but not light - first light omen or kuiu yukon
Light and water proof but limited durability- kuiu chugach

I’ve been happy with my stone glacier m5 set has a few small holes but I’ve used the gear many days in feild

I have had the Chugach for around 8-9 years, if I remember correctly. It has held up well and is pretty packable. I did go with one of their camo patterns, which in hindsight is a lot less important to me now as I would likely use it a bit more if it were in a solid color.

I hunt in CO mostly, so it has not seen the abuse that some other locals would put it through. I see no need to upgrade and anticipate having it for years to come. I actually just washed it after listening to an EXO podcast and it did a great job in cleaning it and getting the "water-proofness" back up to par.

I heard some like the HH Gale Waterproof rain jacket. might run that this year. I have the Kuiu right now and I will say it let me down.

I have used Rivers West jackets for 15+ years, very happy with the quality and durability. I hunt in WA/CO and it has worked well both places. For a shell/puffy combo, my XD or Mountain Hardware both have served well. It's always a struggle to find some quality rain gear to keep dry/warm. I have used all my gear in extreme wet and downpouring conditions, as I think back on it when writing this. I would replace what I have with the same brand should the need arise. No first hand use, but Arctyrex is a very popular and well respected jacket that I know many people really like, here in rainy western Washington.
