I've sifted through the archives and still am a bit unclear on what I need. I'd like something packable and suited for warm to cold weather.

I'm 5'10", 205 and thick in the upper body. I'm running a quilt. I'll be at base camp in a cot but will also spike out for a night or two or three.

I tend to shift from back to side to side a lot so maybe I should go bigger than regular size?

Let me know what works or if any additional information is need.

Thanks,

Chris

I use sierra designs backcountry quilt with a non-insulated neoair pad, works well down to freezing temps. With a pack under your legs you can get away with a shorter length pad, or regular length, I doubt you'd need an xl pad. I'd consider the shape also, a square pad allows more sprawling when you sleep on your side vs a mummy shaped one, that's totally dependant on you though
