Quiet outer shell (windproof and somewhat waterproof)?

I wear a lot of merino wool as many of us do here and though they are quiet, scent free, and warm they sure do not block the wind!

My puffy tends to make a swooshing sound and my rain jacket is quiet during the rain but not during silent cold sits. Both these thing block wind but don’t work well when the wind dies down.


Is there a shell that is somewhat waterproof, windproof, and super quiet?
The cheaper and lighter the better…

My Jetstream isn’t that loud.

FL corrugate guide jacket was made for this purpose, although one could argue not very windproof but water resistant.

I think the Jetstream is the quietest WS shell there is.

Kuiu Guide is my go to soft shell. Watch the classifieds and save a little money.

The Jet Stream is a nice jacket and really cuts the winds. Make sure you size up and you maybe able to layer your puffy under it.

I don't think my Kuiu Axis is all that noisy but it really blocks the wind well. Should do well in the rain too.it should fare better then the jetstream.
