Q&A on NF NX6 scope reviews

This is slightly off-topic but it doesn't deserve its own thread and I'd rather put it here than other threads:

In light of the S2H scope release, does the OP intend to continue drop testing other scopes from other makers, and is there a methodology as to how he's choosing which scopes to test next?

Yes, the scope evals will continue- why wouldn’t they? And the choice of what gets evaled is the same, however Ryan and I are being a bit more selective to scopes that are compelling or that we want to see, as the time/effort has gotten out of hand with random scopes that aren’t really useful.

Why doesn’t Nightforce just make a version of the MOAR reticle in Mil?

It’s easy to see for the most part, it’s less cluttered, but still would have plenty of info. Seems like an easy solution.

I looked through one of these at SCI Dallas. The reticle seems to be very usable.

They do, it’s the MIL-R aaannnnddd they are discontinuing it. This is currently the only MIL reticle that’s truly useable and not stupidly cluttered with .2 MIL hash marks which is not needed in a hunting reticle.

Usable yes, but still not visible at low power.

Really all they need is thick solid stadia lines that come in far enough from all directions on a Mil-C. That would be perfect. Everything you need and nothing you don't.

I’ve been shooting with two prototype NF NX6’s for a while. A 3-18x50mm and the 5-30x56mm versions. Both in MOA as that was the first ones made. We were asked not to release anything until the 14th. We supposedly will get sent one the first production 2-12x versions when finished- having said that, most of the general “feel” of the line is the same between them.

What does prototype mean- in this case the outside of the scope is what production scopes will be. The turret design, glass, etc are all the same. What was relayed was that some parts of the erector system will be different on the production scopes- we cannot say what those are. Just that I was asked to not do the drop eval on the prototypes as it would not be inductive of production scope performance.

I haven’t heard solid dates. I have heard March, April, and May.

Form, do you have any time behind a full production version of this scope yet? With news that the first shipments are are hitting dealers, I'm just wondering if you managed to get a full production version ahead of time and, if so, whether you have anything worth sharing yet.

One of my coworkers bought my ATACR 7-35x56 today and it just so happened that EuroOptic got the NX6 3-18x50 MIL-C in today. So I went ahead and ordered one, gets here Saturday.
